We don't have the assets to get the unicorn. The only reason George is a possibility is because it is at rental prices.
but everyone is yippy skippy on a guy who has said he's going to LA next year as an UFA.... Every one of those guys is a gamble... Porz is the best option - so you take the good with the bad... ditching Ryno makes it more palatable....
Could we even put anything together that would entice the Knicks enough? I assume Clint, both of this year's 2nd's, next year's first, and what else? Boston can trump that without even trying. The Lakers could crush anything we could offer (Ingram, their two low firsts this year, Randle). I want Zinger the most, but it's just not feasible, IMO.
As the team is currently constructed with Harden as the point guard and primary ball handler, Melo and Porzingis fit in better and allow Harden to still run the offense. I would gladly take Melo's carcass as part of a Porzingis deal. He only has 2 years left on his contract with an player option in 2018.
