Melo would be a different Melo in Houston. If he scored points means his opponent would have to work both ends. Outcome would different, if we didn't rely on Ariza, Ryno or PJ to score. Finals MVPs has always been All-Stars.

If trading Ryan Anderson for melo means we can cut melo and then get the cap space, sure let’s do it. Otherwise what do I care which one of them sits on our bench?

I don’t know what in the world happened to Ryan Anderson but there is at least the remote possibility he regains the ability to play like he did 2 seasons ago if he’s still on the roster. That Anderson can be valuable. And if not, well at least he sat his 20 million dollar ass on the bench and didn’t complain.

Melo is done. And even worse he doesn’t know it. No thank you.

How many times does it have to be said. IT DOESNT CREATE CAP SPACE. We need his contract to match salaries. Cutting andersons salary still puts us over tge cap. Please learn how operating over the cap works. Andersons contract is very important right now.

Aggressive much? I was being facetious. Did you even read my post? I want no part of Carmelo.

    Comprehension helps. Learn it.

Parsons is more athletic and versatile, though

Echo the sentiments of others. It's not that Melo is great, it's that almost anyone is a better fit than Ryno. In fact, NO ONE is a better fit (ie, the empty jersey).

Ryno seems more like he was a fit for the legacy Rockets (ie, pre defense oriented). All he had to do then was shoot three's. That's not who this team is anymore, nor was he particularly effective even at that.

Hahahaha! Take the politics out of it, and its definitely an improvement, though. Not that Parsons has been playing that great, but still a definite improvement. He has a better all around game.

LOL, I know how the cap works. One year less DOES NOT hurt the Rockets. As long as a salary is on the books it can be moved. But one year less makes it more attractive to move.

Again, learn how operating in the market works.

I think you need to read Clutch's article on Ryan Anderson's contract equating to a cost of 100M next year in salary, taxes n such...
"Enter Ryan Anderson, who became virtually unplayable in the second half of the season and has two years and nearly $42 million remaining on his deal. When you put Anderson on top of that team payroll, that puts Fetitta on the hook for over $20 million in salary and as much as $80 million in luxury taxes from just his contract alone."
    http://rockets.clutchfans.net/11189/ryan-anderson-cost-rockets-100-million/

I sincerely hope Tillman is a better businessman than to waste 100M on dead weight next year - for the possibility that it will hopefully equate to the salary matching silver bullet in some future unknown trade... otoh the last year could also become another year of huge financial expenditures if u dont get a taker for a trade and need to pay the last year as well...

that just wouldnt be good business...

I expect an owner that is willing to spend money when an opportunity presents itself... I dont expect them to foolishly squander huge sums of money on some theoretic pipe dream of the future...

No, Melo is a dam cancer. Keep the same dam team and we will beat the GSW. With Cp3 healthy this year, it was a gurrenteed finals, but gsw suck some donkey dOcks and they got that blessings.

You didnt want melo yes. For the wrong reasons though. You said it would help cap space. Factually wrong

That article is missleading. Its not ryan andersons contract. Its the team of contracts. His article is careless and i dont think he should have published that piece.

You trade anderson now for garbage, the team cant get better period. You are locked in.

Think about it for a minute. If you acquire melo you are not going to be able to flip him. That means you are paying luxury tax and even more this year since his contract is higher. So going into the next year ryno is a 1 year remaining even easier contract to move and improve the team in a salary match if you moss on your targets this offseason. It makes no sense to trade anderson for melo if thats all your really doing is trying to save a year. You are paying this year regardless
