He may be the most viable option for the Rockets at center. Nene and Chandler are long shots while the Rockets do not seem to be interested in Dalembert.

Biedrins is only 25 and he is an excellent rebounder, a very good shot blocker, a true 7 footer and shoots a very high percentage from the field. It looks like GSW is going to make him an amnesty victim and I would be thrilled if the Rockets could get him for the price of what they are paying Thabeet.

When he is cut I say place a bid for him at Thabeets salary and then cut Thabeet via amnesty and the Rockets would still have almost seven mil under the cap to work with.

AB may be a C but he was an apple of DM the GM's June eye. He can play, except for FTs (ugh-ly!).

It will not take an amnesty bid 0f more than $3 to acquire AB if (when?) amnestied.

But, Warriors with Chandled and CP3 instead of Biedrins and Curry and Ellis traded to/for _______? would be an interesting team. (Add likely West in and Lee out in above scenario.)

Too bad Golden state has no reason to cut him and won't use the Amnesty on him because they are way below the cap to begin with.

At one time, I was pretty intrigued a few years back....but he's got a hefty salary now and has been in the league 7 years with minimal progress...and has backslid in some areas.

He's a nice putback specialist, but defends poorly and is below average as a blocker for his size and quickness. For a guy that sees few touches, he's fairly prone to turnovers.

Sadly, that would still make him our best 7 footer by a wide margin.

Reports are, the Warriors don't plan to amnesty him.

No, what would be the point? Unless we get Chandler, Nene or trade for an Asik or Bogut, I'd rather just roll with Thabeet.

Play Thabeet. If he plays great - great. If he sucks and we get a higher 2012 pick because of him -great.

The amnesty depends on what happens for GSW this offseason. It's possible they make some acquisitions that will then necessitate cutting him from the payroll. In any case, if he becomes available, I think that's a better option than wasting money on Nene or Chandler.

Andris is an all effort guy and he seems like a nice guy. I would def. like him to be on this team. Injuries is a little bit of concern but he has height, pretty good defense, and decent offense. Plus, getting Biedrins is not chasing a pipe dream like getting DH.

Rockets are interested in Dalembert, Clutchfans are not.

    Dalembert > Biedrins

Ive never been in favor of tanking but i think this season being short with all the talent in next years draft is the perfect opportunity.

If the Rockets can get him for cheap, then hell yeah. If they have to pay that whole contract, then no.

The Warriors (with CP3 on board) could still make a reasonably attractive offer to Tyson Chandler if they just amnesty cut Charlie Bell and his $4.1M salary only owed for one more year (rather than eating $27M [minus the amnesty bid] on Biedrins over the next three years).

Also, from the Rockets' perspective, in order to even MAKE A BID on Biedrins, the Rockets would have to renounce the $7.35M Battier TPE, the MLE, the BAE and more. If make a bid of more than $3M or so, the Rockets would also need to renouce their rights to Chuck Hayes or make another roster move.

While my assumption is that, like with a matched RFA offer sheet, the losing bidder can "un-renounce" its players' rights and cap exceptions, the rules on this are just now--even as I type this--being finalized on this issue. If the lawyers forget to include this in the new CBA, then the Rockets may end up risking a lot just at a CHANCE at Biedrins.

That changes if they trade for CP3 and sign Chandler. They'll possibly also add DWest and somehow jettison (trade) Lee.

I've read multiple sources that say they plan to cut him and especially if they can get both CP3 and Chandler
