I mean, think bout it, it is a very fair deal
Deveon George is a high-flyer who can entertain the crowd and fans.......

then you have Rick Fox, he is actually a Small Forward/Power Forward....He will really help us! Rockets need a strong-small-forward, and good power-forward.Rick Fox is just that, and all we have to do is give up the lotter#9 pick(which is basically useless for us)I would do this trade in a heart-beat.

Although I really like George I'm not 2 high on Fox, and I believe that there is still quality at #9. So no.

I have to agree with these guys, Shandon40. George is too unknown (shouldn't he be replacing Glen Rice if he's so good?) and Fox is a nice player but not at the sacrifice of a mid-lottery pick.

In a #9 pick we could pick up a SF that is better than Rick. Why do we need Dev. we already have Mooch and mobs for back ups. IMO, I wdnt ever do that trade

PLZ i believe los well start for us some day. This year he just had injuries so, he coulnt show all his moves. Los did play good when he wasnt injured. Also Los had a 28 point game not that it matters.
I have nothing against Dev but we dont need him in our rotation.

    Nope ain't gonna happen!!!!

Walt is at least equal to Rick Fox. So where is the positive to this deal? Moochie is playing suberb. Anderson and Mobley have the shooting guard wrapped up as of now.

    So where is the logic?

Watch out for George folks, Jackson is not too big on young guys, his triangle is like nothing a young guy has seen before and BigPoppaZen has hardly ever played a young guy with the exception of injuries. George is a GOOD 2-3 waiting to happen. I live in Cali and have watched George play a lot. My cousin lives in LA and although we both hate the Lakers we watch them a lot (my DSS went out after the allstar break...4 those in the know 745 got me...) and George will be a fine player one day, I would trade Los, our 2nd rndr the rights to serge zwiker and Devin Gray(in case they liked the initials D.G. hell Shaq would probably think he was the same player) Being serious now I would like to aquire George if all it took was Los and our 2nd rndr, in my oppinion that would be a steal.

As far as him starting over Rice.......Ummm not even gonna touch that one.

But as far as the trade a definate no. Fox is el garbage.

I don't know about Rick Fox, but I'd consider his wife, Vanessa Williams [IMG]

I wouldn't do this deal, but I think some people would give it serious condideration.

Tdub - you said we don't need Dev because "we already have Mooch and Mobley as backups?? Correct me if I'm wrong, but George is a 6-8 PF/SF - Mooch and Mobes 'aint going to backup anywhere George plays.

Guys, don't be fooled. This is Jerry West trying to post anonymously.

Nice try, Jerry. We're on to you. We're not falling for it!

Just sitting here waiting for someone to point out that the trade is not even remotely possible because of salary cap considerations.

Sure there is the Rocket's trade exception that could come into play, but sure wouldn't waste it on Fox and George.

Isn't Kobe a young guy playing the triangle?? He is only 21 right?

This was the first offense he really learned as he didn't go to college and was not taught in a certain way. Plus Kobe is Kobe.

I don't think it's too bad a deal. Fox is a proven offensive weapon on a running offense (running with Celtics and Lakers). I have always liked his intangibles, and would bring some saviness to the team. Most importantly, he knows how to win... To me, I think he played a big part on the Lakers' success. On a team with 3-4 starters who has limited experience, a veteran presence could go a long way in speeding up the learning curve of the young'uns. Also, I think that Devean George could be exciting player for the Rockets. I remembered that the Lakers gave up Ruben Patterson for not so much to Seattle...

However by doing this deal, we'd have to have traded away Walt Williams (so Fox will have the minutes to contribute). Also, we have to be assured that we will not get a big man who can contribute in the short-term basis in the draft.

I think this could be a nice option to have in draft time, in case the draft totally go against the Rockets' needs. However, to make it more feasible, I'd like to see the Lakers' late first round pick included in the deal as well...

    My two cents...

    Peace out
