I'm kind of rooting against Harden to get the MVP just to see how they will take it from him. I mean, leading the league in pts and asts wit the Rockets in first place and not a peep.

Nobody should be talking about who the NBA MVP is on November 15th.

Just Barkley saying stupid, un-thought-out, offhand comments. Not even going to respond.

And after last nights brilliant performance...(roughly at the 1/4 season mark)

    Harden 71.7%

    Kyrie 1.6%

Barkley always pick the wrong choices. If it ended today, Harden wins. 1st in Western Conference over the Warriors. You have to give the MVP to a player on a team that finishes over the Warriors in the Western Conference. Dec 28 is not going to be good for the green folks.

I wouldn't say a travesty, but it would be an upset. Harden is having an unbelievable year statistically. The records are almost a wash, especially when you consider that the Rockets play in the much superior conference. And anything Kyrie is doing in Hayward's absence is offset by what Harden's done thus far without Chris Paul.

But that being said, we're only 16 games into the season. A lot can happen between now and April.

Kyrie isn’t an MVP caliber player and his statline is a joke compared to the other candidates...he’s not even the main reason his team is winning

nobody is giving the MVP to some dude averaging 20, 3, and 5 with mediocre shooting percentages and a below average TS%

    this topic needs to die

    Kyrie isn't winning it.

Not sure he's the best player on that team.

Barkley was just trying to throw a bone to Celtics fans after disrespecting the team earlier in the night. His MVP pick, 1 month into a long season, should be taken with a grain of salt.

Harden is clearly the front runner right now, but that can easily change due to any number of reasons.

    I’m also confused by this.

Horford is just as important to them.

Kemba Walker gives you basically what Irving does. I’m not saying he’s as good... but if you switch Kemba and Kyrie I think you have the exact same results at this point.

Well we do have reigning coach of the year Mike D'GOAToni, lol. Are you ignoring his impact?

He turned a white PG into a 2-time MVP and Jeremy Lin into a household name. He definitely deserves some credit for our success and for Harden's success.

I don't care who wins MVP. I just want to see the Rockets win a championship. Remember what Dream did to the Admiral-- that'd be a nice scenario to see again!

The MVP is determined by the media.

    Let that sink in.

They are arguably the most biased profession, exhibit extreme overconfidence, and have some of the worst analytical skills of any group forced to make impactful decisions.

There's a reason the players MVP and the media MVP are almost never the same person, and it's not because NBA players forget how to play basketball in the off-season.

    answer my questions...

Who has been more responsible for Boston’s success so far?

    Kyrie or Brad Stevens?

Kyrie or their #1 ranked defense?

How many big games has Kyrie had? What is he doing that is so special and MVP worthy?

stop ducking and answer the questions, and give legit answers and not troll responses

Lol, I already said I would give it to Harden over Kyrie right now! What more do you want?

All I'm saying is it's hard to ignore being 14-2 and having a 14 game winning streak. I say Harden deserves it over Kyrie right now but it wouldn't be a completely travesty if Kyrie were to get it.
