I believe with the right bench and good chemistry our big 4 (harden, parsons, Smith, Dwight) could defeat the heat in a series.

Right, and we are talking about the presence. In this hypothetical situation, the Rockets will not be playing against the Wade of old, but the over-the-hill Wade of the present.

Forget smith someone needs to tell motey to go after LMA. He knows better. If trade Asik it better be someone like LMA

Smith does not belong in any big 3 if we're talking about the "best"

IMO he is just overrated, has not accomplished anything in his career, isn't even an all-star player and thinks he DESERVES a max contract... just a cancer that needs to be avoided if you don't want to be a treadmill team for the duration of his contract

Ride with the FOUR HORSEMEN: Howard, Harden, Smith & Parsons. (wow, that sounds like a law firm. ;-P )

True. Soon age will be a factor, as he is 31. To be honest, I worry more about if Harden could guard him, than him guarding Harden.

Comparing a point guard with a center?
If your gonna compare at least to make it align.
    Westbrook<Harden
    Durant>>smith
    Ibaka<Howard

    Hypothetical Question:

If the Rox were offered a trade scenario(s) where they'd be able to shed Lin, Asik and Royce White; but only contingent upon shipping Parsons out, too... do they do it?

Considering all the heart, soul and unity this guy brings to this organization, not to mention his unabashed recruitment of Dwight, on court play making ability, cheap contract, etc... Is Parsons kind of untouchable at this point in the game?

If it meant locking up Howard and Smith TODAY... Do the Rox brass pull the trigger and move him? Would it give Dwight second thought?

Again, it's a hypothetical question only.

    Beverly...Chalmers...Westbrook (OKC, HOU, MIA)
    Harden...Wade...Sefalosha (HOU, MIA, OKC)
    Parsons...Miller...Durant (OKC, HOU, MIA)
    Smith...Lebron...Ibaka (MIA, OKC, HOU)
    Howard...Bosh...Perkins (HOU, MIA, OKC)

    HOU- 9
    MIA- 8
    OKC- 10

That's just based on rankings where lowest number wins. Just something to think about

I dont care who your big 3 is. It will be <<< Big 3 with Lebron
CP3, Durant, Larry Sanders might be able to though.

I don't know about best big 3 but it'll be an awesome line-up.

    Howard (rebound king, DPOY)

Josh Smith (versatile defender, can finish)

    Parsons (all round game)

    Harden (leading scorer, playmaker)

Lin (playmaker, one of the best passing PGs)

This team has great potential if the play team ball. I would like to see many set plays and a strong system developed during camp that maximizes everyone's strengths. I think Lin needs to be the distributor and feed the hot hand. I don't want to see harden bringing the ball up. I think the danger is this team playing as individual stars and not as a team. The ball movement should find the player in the best position to score always.

The reason why this would not be the best big three in the league is because while Dwight and Smith are great defensively, Smith would hinder the spacing on offense for Dwight to operate on the blocks.

This would be a solid big 3 but not the best. I guess it just depends on what Josh Smith you get.
