Online purchases seem to be the way to go, I'm not driving to Austin to find Academy sold out. Post pics, and the sites, of the coolest stuff yall find. I'm already working on Christmas presents and things of that nature for about 20 people.
For those looking for the title edition of the Chronicle, I suggest hitting up gas stations now. The ones in my area got their shipments at 4 AM.
Just got back from Academy on Kirby, got there around 430am, they had shipment of hats that came in, plenty of shirts, locker room, '47, and Nike shirts
I aready have the WS patch authentic yuli gurriel jersey I pre ordered the blue 2017 world series champion hoodie too.
I'm waiting a few months later when it hits clearance than I'll be hoarding them for keepsake. Be careful on non-licensed gear like the champ years of the Rockets.
I'm in Cedar Park (north of Austin) and when I walked into Academy the guy took one look at me and said "nope we're all sold out" Ordered a cap online, but the shirt I wanted ended up being out of stock between adding it to my cart and checking out.
I went about 5am to the team shop. They had tons of everything including the hat. Very few people there. Also had a table with pastries and coffee. Pretty cool.
I'll definitely be getting the WS Champions gear as well, but anyone know where to get one of the hoodies they were wearing in the dugouts before they won? Loved the look of those.
So what makes it non-license, there is no MLB logo? What about the shirts you see at wal-mart or HEB, is that considered non license because they are cheaper and i don't see them at places like academy. Just curious, I bought some shirts from HEB before.
I dropped $108 on 4 shirts for me, my wife and my girls at Academy. Waiting in line for about 3 hours, but the squeals of excitement and joy from my 8 and almost 6 year old made the waiting in line, the being absolutely tired today so worth it!!
Be careful on the street, flea market, or especially online. HEB, Krogers, or Walmart like those sell MLB endorsed shirts, but they don't carry New Era hats (official MLB brand), or Majestic brand (official MLB brand). lids.com https://www.majesticathletic.com/mlb-houston-astros/o-2398+t-70118652+z-99691-3372551248 http://si.fanatics.com/ https://www.si.com/mlb/2017/11/02/astros-world-series-champion-2018 2018 Astros Champion!?!?!?!?!?!? We repeat?!?!?!?!?
The last time the city went through this, it was in the infancy of the internet. I guess waiting in line at 2am for a chance to buy t-shirts is an experience only this sort of event affords... I just also love the fact that I can click a button and the same shirt will be here by tomorrow.
