    While Morey is shopping Jones for a first rounder being that he barely played, he's sub-consciously increasing the value of Patterson & Morris.

    It'd kinda mean that Marcus Morris who's been showcased in games is still less perceived value than Terrence Jones's "potential"

    And Royce White remains on the team in a dysfuctional "T-Mac microsurgery" way.

    Or perhaps its that, which would be mind=blown Morey magic

    1. A part of the motivation for this may be to clear salaries for the upcoming summer (i.e. pursue Dwight Howard).

    2. Also, if TJ doesn't get minutes soon, his value will quickly decline even if he's talented. As Woj notes, they need to clear up their PF logjam at some point.

    3. One trade that makes sense: Jones to PHX for 2015 Lakers pick (with some light protection) plus Jermaine O'Neal.

    Given the weird protection on the 2013 draft pick that Lakers owe PHX-- if Lakers miss the playoffs, PHX get their lotto pick, if Lakers make playoffs, PHX likely gets MIA's crappy pick--, PHX should want to help us make the playoffs. We get a vet who isn't coming back and a future asset for someone they can try out right now.

    Sorry for the double post, But Morey knows while shopping Jones for a 1st rounder, teams will check the availability of either Patterson and/or Morris.

    He just wants a decent first rounder & "expecting" one for Jones guarantees him a first for one of the other two. Possibly more for Patterson.

    This is odd since he's only his first year. Some drafted players don't get their opportunity until their third year because of roster depth.

    Either his agent has requested a trade or is putting his name out there hoping for a trade or the Rockets must really want that pick in a supposedly weak draft, hmm...

    What about Sergio Llull ... didn't the Rockets acquire his rights a while back? Why is Houston's record with overseas signings so bad?

    It better be a very high draft pick, like Top 10 ... perhaps Detroit or Charlotte. It's not like they use those picks very well, let Morey take 'em draft picks off your hands for you.

    For a first round pick which is a nice trade asset though, so maybe he's planning to put together a package.
