Pretty much this. Everyone thought LeBron and the Heat were going to go on a several year dynasty run, when in reality, they were lucky to get the second championship. I could certainly see Durant creating a distraction.

Yes. Just because a person is a rich and rare talent doesn't mean they should make their life harder to prove something to others.

Enemies? He probably played AAU ball with half the Warriors that are around his age. Superteams have always existed in the league. We've seen Magic, Cap and Worthy play together. Wilt, Baylor and West. The 86 Celtics had 5 HOFers on one team. Stars have been playing together.

If someone wants to be an MVP dont' go to another MVP's team and then try to call yourself that. MVPs bring championships on their teams they dont' join other MVPs.
It's nothing like you have seen before. Never a former MVP in his PRIME joined a historical team that just won a championship and is gunning for the best winning record of all time

Moses Malone did just that. They won a title too. Either way, Durant may just be concerned with calling himself "champion".

Sure, because it's rare for a former MVP to hit free agency at a time where a team as good as GS has the $$ to sign him.

Star teams are nothing new. If Durant goes to GS and they lose talent to sign him (like Iggy and Barnes) then it still won't be the most stacked team we have seen.

Yahoo lets Woj write articles because his breaking news is so good, but it's like letting MJ play baseball because he was good at basketball, the result won't be so great but ya gotta do it.

It would be highly disappointing if Durant if he got a 'bandwagon' ring with GSW.

They've already accomplished so much without him that it certainly wouldn't
be much of an accomplishment for KD.
Just would show he was able to wear a GS jersey and get a ring for it

A REAL competitor would want to go after GS and try to take them down.
    THAT'S the stuff of legends.
That's how you make a name for yourself. You slay the giant.
NOT by getting a 'me too' ring.

Don't do it KD. We'll lose all respect for you

Erm I don't really see this working out, the reason being you can't have more than 2 guys hogging the ball. Of course in paper a big 4 of Curry, KD, Thompson and Green looks great, but if you remember the PHX Suns had a pretty similar 4 star lineup with Nash/Amare/JJ/Matrix and it resulted in JJ leaving because he wasn't getting enough shots. Right now GSW has really good balance, Iggy has transformed himself into a really good glue guy and they can rely on Barnes off the bench. If they chase after KD they lose their bench and then you have an issue regarding shots in the starting 4 since Curry/Thompson/KD all require shots. It also makes them hella susceptible to injuries.

Honestly I don't mind this trade, we can go after Barnes or Iggy instead and have an Ariza/Barnes/Iggy combo on the wings.

Miami only won 47 games before LeBron and Bosh joined them and they only kept like 2 players from that 47 win roster. Anything can happen.

No, Kevin Durant would be more like Superman joining an X-Men team full of psychics, weather-controllers, teleporters, and Wolverines and going up against the rest of Marvel universe.

Hogan was kind of non-factor in the ring at that point, but politically speaking you'd be right.

These superteams never seem to work out to be as dominant or eternal as they look at the outset.

I'm not sure about that. Miami did make 4 straight NBA Finals and won 2 titles. Boston won a title and was a contender for an extended period of time. But a key difference is that both of those teams started out terrible. Durant would be joining an already great team. There's not really any direct parallels to a top-5 player joining the best team in the league, but adding Dennis Rodman to a Jordan/Pippen led Bulls team took them from really really good to 72 wins and 3 more titles.

Iggy, I think is expendable for what they have to pay him on the next contract. But, losing his defensive prowess is going to hurt, if they can't find adequate replacement to put on the bench.

Barnes for Durant...all day, all night, every year for the next five decades. Barnes is not worth max money, I'm not sure he'd be 20 ppg scorer on a bad team. He's a good piece to have, but if we are talking Durant. You have to do it.

Bogut, they've used sparingly anyway. He's still a serviceable center, but I think they might can get someone little more effective and that can fit more into their offense. Or, they could settle more for defensive presence, like a Roy Hibbert, and use him like they would Bogut.
