    Clutchfans is so desperate right now that they are coming up with new and absurd ways to defend a career loser like Melo.

    Seems like they are on course to outdo Lin fans lol.

    I'm saying that's what turns a player from being "efficient" to "inefficient" or "washed"

    You take a raw stat like FG% and make a huge story out of it or you break it down and get an even bigger picture.

    Similar to you guys and that 0 for 27 stretch or whatever in game 7. You hit a couple of those and you're potentially NBA Champions but the story from that game is now the 0 for stretch.

    Sometimes context gets lost in discussion and I for one know Melo's shot selection isn't great at times so I can see why percentages aren't what they could be.

    Ariza had a significantly better offensive rating than Melo if you want to hang your hat on that one basketball reference stat.

    Unless you’re hilariously trying to imply that Melo is close to Ariza defensively then who cares if they have similar DRTGs.

    Melo: liability against a dominant Utah offense in the playoffs...-1.25 DRPM

    Ariza: primary defender on opposing team’s best wing player...+1.15 DRPM

    I never said he was lol, I'm just using the stats to show that while on the court both their teams gave up similar points per 100 possessions.

    Is that not factual? Ariza is obviously a better defender.

    I referenced that. Ariza also played with more dynamic playmakers in a more dynamic offense. Have you seen Billy Donovan coach basketball?

    Yeah, I get that feeling.

    Looks like the trade will happen and since he already met with a few teams. I think a decision is coming in less than two day's I'd imagine.

    yeah, while Melo was being hidden defensively and never having to guard the team’s best wing players

    now we don’t have Ariza or even Luc, and people are out here hoping that Melo and his trash D would be inserted into our starting lineup playing for a team that switches more aggressively than OKC does...I really don’t care that they have similar DRTGs because Ariza to Melo is a big downgrade defensively

    Rockets pitching a bench role to Melo is music to my ears
