    I don't understand this part, he just signed a new contract last year. I understand making your star players happy but this is insane

    That's a huge haul for OKC. They weren't going to win anything with George next year anyway. And they got Shai.

    LAC gave up a ton. If they don't make it to the WCF then this could come back to bite them. I don't think they're the favorites to win the west but I could be wrong.

    It was in the best interest of Paul George to work in complete silence if he wanted out of OKC with his rapsheet of essentially tampering all over the place for multiple seasons. It was probably more of a "Hey... look dude, do you wanna be traded?" more than Paul George going to the FO himself. He was essentially bullied out of signing with the Lakers by the league because of how vocal he was during the regular season about wanting to play with them.
