im sorry but butler would have to be an idiot to leave philly for houston. they have good young talent, and while its embiids team, jimmy could still be the closer. their pieces are also movable if something isnt working. seriously he would be dumb as hell. the rockets are stuck with cp3 contract no matter what and we do not have the same amount of talent, balance, or depth.

Check out this post from earlier in the thread from Finsraider , it shows how razor thin the margin is in a S&T situation and keep in mind in his scenario , the MLE hasn't yet been spent nor do they have "full roster" only 14 spots filled.

There's no need to "argue" for Embiid. Just watching a few Sixers games makes the answer VERY clear.

It's Embiid's team, and Butler will have a significantly more important ball handling role caddying for Embiid than standing in the corner watching Harden dribble for 20 seconds.

Is that supposed to be inside information? He's just giving his opinion.

Thx for being up Toronto. No one said anything about not needing A star on the team. The argument is about Morey’s obsession over chasing a 3rd star and adding another max contract that would absorb 90+ % of the salary and handcuff the team financially, which would leave absolutely no salary to sign any decent role players. Toronto is actually an example of a team with the exact opposite blueprint for a championship. They have ONE star and had plenty of salary to surround that player with good starters and a deep bench. Who will
Paul’s backup be when he’s tired and or injured again? Wait, wait... I know. Bobby Brown!

They played a team without their best player. With both centers playing severely injured and with Thompson out for pivotal games 5 and 6. I’m not impressed with their championship. All the pundits crowning them and clowning us are tripping. We lost to a team that was healthy with KD out for 1.25 games. Don’t even come at me with the oh we lost the game KD got injured. So did Toronto. And they only dealt with him for a quarter. Toronto also didn’t face atrocious refereeing in game 1 like us. Their blueprint was luck. Not Impressed with that.

Again, Toronto does NOT have one star. No matter how many times you try to repeat this, it will remain untrue. Toronto has TWO stars; Kwahi and Lowry. After that they have Ibaka and Gasol, both fringe stars.

Also, there is no blueprint to winning a championship outside of you probably need at least 2 stars and a whole lot of luck. Take Toronto for instance, they ran into a severely depleted Warriors. If KD, Thompson, and Curry were all healthy, Raptors most likely get swept.

Starting to think Morey KNOWS Philly has zero chance at doing this but is leaking stuff so when we strike out his idiot fans can say "welp, atleast Morey tried something". Trying & doing are too different things

Or you can stop trying to figure out what is going and just wait and see what happens?

If this happens and you’re hard capped, you’re basically playing for the 2020-2021 season. You eat next year in hopes of maximizing the roster the following season.

Not sure if it’s worth it or not. I really don’t. But in Morey we trust.

Not only that but we have to gut our team in order to get him. Given the options between Phili, LA or Houston. I would take them in that order. Phili doesn't have to give up anything and can offer the most money as well as best chance to win.

LA has the LA star appeal not to mention AD, Lebron and Kuzma and other nice young players.

We would literally have Harden and an aging Paul.

No way Paul will be yet another year old. By 2020 we will be in the same spot with 2 stars and no cap room. Just this time we will CP still on the books for a lot of money.

This sucks. It's like either way we get ****ed

Misleading thread title due to mistaken twitter post by Rob Kimbell. Here is a quote from Woj's article:

"Butler's level of interest in pursuing the Rockets' idea is unclear."

They may lose Harris, JJ Red, Simmons can't hit the side of a barn, Embiid is hurt ALL the time, and maybe Butler might just want to play in his hometown in front of family and friends.

And from your perspective he "would have to be and idiot to leave Phiily for Houston"?

    Idiot......look in the mirror!!
