LeBron to Houston has been ice cold forever - but with this latest Woj bomb, it's probably finally safe to say that it seems -- seems -- like things are really heating up.
Right- that's why we aren't spending big this year. Morey playing the media is a thing of beauty. Saves Les $25 million+ each year. Can't imagine how much Morey is being paid to do this.
If Rockets have CP3, Harden and Melo...and possibly even D Wade, then it is certainly a 2 team race for Lebron's services. I might even say Houston would be the favorite at that point.
So we unload Ryno for Melo. How does this work next year with CP3, Harden, and Melo's contract? I assume we unload EG and almost everyone else except Joe Chee. Does that still allow us to sign King James with 3 max contracts already???
The Possibility of wining a championship is less than 5% even LeBron is here. This is just another nosense thing from our Clutchfans.
maybe harden and possibly cp3 with bird's rights? and then possibly each player taking a little less to get everyone to fit in there? who knows
I also wonder how'd it work with Melo, Harden, and Paul on max deals, how much is the cap next year projected to be? I know Ariza is a FA, while Gordon, Nene and Tucker are signed, plus Qi. This is of course if we do get Melo and unload Ryan Anderson's contract. I agree with khanhdum, the players would need to take a bit less like Lebron/Wade/Bosh did to be together.
As much as I would love Lebron to be here, him coming would mean rooting for us to lose to Golden State in the WCF and for GS to beat Cleveland again. There is no way Lebron loses to us the final and leaves to join us and he for sure isn't going to beat us and then join us.
On his podcast, Chris Mannix repeated that if the Rockets don't secure Melo then LeBron would most likely come to Houston next summer
Getting Melo helps in the Lebron chase; not hurts assuming Melo opts out. I think he will opt out to help Houston.
Lol that's pretty dumb though? Why would we go after Melo if it means losing Lebron, doesn't make sense...to me it's the opposite, add Melo and we have even more chance, CP3, Lebron and Melo are all expiring next summer, if they want to play together while having a serious chance to win there's no better place than Houston. I'm sure CP, Lebron and Melo already talked about this.
Mannix didn't believe we are going to get Melo, but was very confident in CP3/Harden's recruiting ability and the situation being the best he could walk into.
Just throwing this out there.....it's possible to get Melo, Lebron and Wade here this season. Melo to Houston for Anderson and our 2020 1st. Melo waives his entire trade kicker. Cleveland underperforms in the first part of the season and LeBron says trade me to Houston or I walk to LA. Houston then trades Ariza, PJ Tucker, Eric Gordon and Onuaku to Cleveland or a 3rd team. Wade gets bought out and signs for the minimum. CP3 / Taylor Harden / Wade / Peak Lebron / Williams Melo / Oliver Capela / Nene / Qi That puts us right at $125.1 million, aka the hard cap, but we have a "full roster" of 12. LIkely? Absolutely not....but possible.
