    Fine by me.

I could have been named the coach, doesn't matter, we're winning it all in 2013.

He has managed to separate himself due to his experience as a top notch ex-pro
player. That doesn't mean he can be a better coach. I wish him the best if he joins us.

Anyone but Frank. I like McHale but clearly he is a dropoff from Adelman. Still I think he is a players coach and a great guy for the bigs. If Yao comes back it will be a major plus for him.

I'd actually be excited if McHale got the job.

Yes, his skills as a coach are relatively untested, but at least he brings some gravitas and respect to the job. No one is going to replace Adelman in that regard, but at least it doesn't feel like we're falling off a cliff in that department either.

I could actually see this working out. Hopefully, he'll put together a talented staff, and we'll be able to move up in the draft and add another young big man for him to work with. It will also be nice to have a new public face for the franchise other than just Morey.

I suppose Kevin DOES make a lot of sense. I was hoping for Casey/ET, but Lurch is a quality coach and an asset to any organization. This guy has major respect around the League and will help CD with our big guys. All the while Finch is being groomed.
    Another Celtic ....argh!

"He brings gravitas and respect"? Are you kidding? He's the laughing stock of the NBA. He's freaking Matt Millen. Sometimes i just don't understand how people can see things so differently.

If Morey wants McHale, then he's the best man for the job.

And there's also this, Les has a history of wanting to bring in big name players and big name coaches, that's what makes hiring Morey so unusual for him, because Morey was a virtual unknown.

No... no... noooooo! Mediocrity here we come. :(
Hopefully he's better than the "analysis" he does on NBA TV.
    I'd rather have Brent Barry.

No s^&t.... If I told you 6 months ago Kevin McHale would be the next Rockets coach, you wouldn't believe it.... seriously.

I will give Morey credit for having some huge balls... not going to be a popular hire, and not a traditional one either.

I do know that some GM's around the league think he can potentially be a far better coach than he was as a GM.

If Morey tells you that eating poo is good for you are you going to start doing that? Morey will likely not be here after 6pm today cause according to you he's God.

Kevin McHale's basketball intelligence is through the roof, as well as his confidence.

(Did anyone hear his comments when he was at the Summer League games on Jordan Hill?)

Very eye opening stuff that he will certainly bring to some great practices with our bigs.

Could see Scola really benefiting from this if McHale becomes the head coach. A lot of his post moves are reminisce of McHale.

Morey has done a good job as a GM, and his moves have been questionable in the past, and have worked out.

If Morey sees something in McHale, then I will trust his judgment this time. If you look at the people Morey has hired, they have been excellent. Our scouting department is great, the coaches, assistants, etc. all have been great.

    I wonder that too.

I do know that R.C. Buford of the Spurs last year said that they were surprised that McHale was as a good coach, and thought he was better suited to coach than be a GM...

Also, he is supposed to be a good teacher, Garnett stated he was helped as much by McHale as anyone.

Dude, I agree. All i'm saying is that it's really a leap of faith for me. He has been a disaster as a GM. He did such a bad job running the Timberwolves. Just terrible. His judgement has to be in question given his track record. I agree Morey deserves the benefit of the doubt, but man ...its a lot to take on faith. JVG and Adleman had rock solid track records. McHale is a complete wild card.

I am with you... I never would have thought McHale would be the Rockets next coach... it will atleast make a boring team more interesting. I suspect he will either be very good or terrible, and either way it will be fun to watch.
