Porzingis and 2 1sts for Smart when they have Brogdon and White there anyway? That's a massive haul. Porzingis played 65 games and averaged 23 and 8.5. Smart played 61 games.

Didn't see the 2 first but how protected are they?

Yeah I think Memphis took the L here with just obtaining Marcus Smart to replace what Dillon Brooks brought to the table.

Maybe he can help Ja with his gun aficionado habit.... like in a positive way

Smart is a little better than Brooks but certainly not worth two FRPs to upgrade. This trade is extremely lopsided in favor of Boston, assuming health as always.

Agree with the Boston won the trade sentiment. Smart is a good player, but over rated especially with the DPOY award that very easily could/maybe should have gone elsewhere that season. Plus they have a better option to eat up those minutes in house already.

1 is Memphis' pick this draft which is at 25 and the other is Golden State's top 4 protected next year.

Warriors are picking at 19 this year. That's better than our other one. Draymond might leave too.

Wizards are stripping it down and that’s fine if that’s what they want to do but they’re giving guys away.

Can we get CP3 for a 2030 2nd round pick?

    Gave away Beal (salary dumped)
Gave away Porzingis (Celtics give up Smart and they’re the one getting two first round picks)

    Kristaps Porzingis
    Bradley Beal
    Isaiah Todd
    Jordan Goodwin
    Chris Paul

    for

    Jordan Poole
    Landry Shamet
    Tyus Jones
    Danilo Gallinari
    Mike Muscala
    Ryan Rollins
    2024 1st round pick swap(PHX)
    2026 1st round pick swap(PHX)
    2028 1st round pick swap(PHX)
    2030 1st round pick swap(PHX)
    2030 1st round pick(GS—Top 20 protected)
    2023 2nd round pick (#35)
    2027 2nd round pick(GS)
    (6) 2nd round picks (‘24-‘25-‘26-‘27-‘28-‘30)(PHX)

    Kuz might be gone.

There's Deni, which i'm 'meh' on, I wouldn't trade our young guys for him, but i think Wizards are high on him.

I liked the original deal much better for the Celtics -- not so much a fan of this one. They are buying high on Porzingis, and Smart is a decent player.

What happened to the allegations that prozingis abused his girlfriend?

Yeah - but I doubt he is the kind of asset they are selling off cheap.

The idea is to burn down the bad contracts, tank, and let young guys take a lot of shots to either (a) hope that one develops into a star or (b) improve their value to flip for more future assets and swings at a star.
What you don't do in that scenario is trade away a cheap young C, who is locked up for (did I say cheap) 3 years, and can provide a nice interior presence defensively while your other young guys run around chucking up shots.

The kind of things they will give away for future assets
    Gill
    Muscala
    Gallinari
    Morris
    Shamet
    Wright

    ie - anyone over 25.

But even now, they don't have a great deal of incentive to flush those guys.
Did they even give people away cheap?
Beal - get out of the contract (which was player controlled - so they had very little leverage) - but they still got a 20+ ppg SG in return (whose big mouth, and arrogance got him moved cheap), a first, 7 seconds, and 4 first round swaps [[plus Shamet and Rollins. lol]]
Porzingis - they didn't give him away cheap. He could opt out, but they arranged a trade to Boston for him and took a small asset return as a thankyou.
