DM didn't inquire about Dirk for Howard... DM thought we weren't getting Howard, so he then inquired about Dirk's availability... Because we did get Howard, Cuban took it as DM was acting like he could get all the superstars... Howard + Dirk... and got pissy...
Uh Morey just asked if Dirk was available. What's wrong about that? If Cuban is going to get an itchy vag because GMs call inquiring about his players no wonder no one likes to deal with the Mavericks unless they are taking back a bad contract or two (see the most recent transaction of getting Tyson back but bringing Fat Felton on). Morey and the word "asset" go hand in hand but maybe that's a good thing. How many players have Morey traded or let go via free agency have turned into All-Stars? Carl Landry? Kevin Martin? Marcus Morris? Thomas Robinson? The lone exception is Parsons and even THAT is up in the air. Cuban might be right in the sense that Morey didn't have the PC savvy-ness years back but Morey, from his interviews with media, has learned his lessons.
Read story here If Cuban was butthurt because his friend sent him that text then Mark definitely needs that team psychologist more than I thought.
We should've asked about Duncan's availability and see what Pop would've done. What do you think he's reaction would be?

You DO realize that Morey and Cuban has a relationship/friendship that enables that kind of texting or verbal jabs at each other correct? If Cuban really hated Morey so much he wouldn't have been a speaker at the Sloan Conference. It's typical Cuban trying to make something out of nothing just to get a rise out of anyone within earshot. Of course if he does this over and over again to someone (like Morey) he should expect a rebuttal. Just like Morey said; Cuban should aim his barbs higher at San Antonio but Cuban knows better. In fact, Mark's been on a fellatio crusade, raving about San Antonio since the beginning of the year.
Now you're just talking just to talk. There's a HUGE difference between Duncan's situation in SA and Dirk's in Dallas.
I've been thinking the same thing...that this is probably a calculated "feud" between two smart guys. It'll help sell a few more tickets or generate a little more interest in their games, which I'm sure they are both fine with.
Why not? Anyone can be traded... just a question on whether or not yer willing to pay the price... Babe Ruth got traded, Oilers traded Earl, Raiders traded Stabler... Hell, WE TRADED HAKEEM! If anyone wants to get butthurt on asking what value a team places on a certain player - that's just stupid... Gee do you think the Spurs would trade a declining Duncan for Harden, Pelicans pick and an assortment of other picks? I wouldn't make the deal... but its not like anyone is beyond being traded.... MAYBE Bron, but give it 4 or 5 more years til he starts declining....
We probably did and he didn't cry to the national media like a baby boy b**** because he understand it's good business to explore all of your options.
Really? The fact that one was playing for a ring and the other was barely holding on to a playoff spot doesn't jump out at you?
