Of course. When healthy Kanter should have been getting more minutes. I know there are defensive issues, but, still.... I think true value for CC is around #8, #12, and a late first.(so, the equivalent in players that can play now) Consider CC as a player..his contract...and that he'll be playing in the East.
ainge is no Divac when it comes to trading. if we deal with them we won't get a steal. assuming we start with Theis and a pick, they only have to throw in Ojele and Langford to match Clint's deal. Theis would be a perfect fit with his shooting, shot blocking, rebounding, and ability to defend the perimeter as well. the pick, Langford, Ojele, and Nene and one of our own picks would go to the wolves for covington. This trade would move us under the tax as well.
Ro-Co is a better version of House, nothing more than that. I wouldn't trade Clint for him. Sota doesn't need him anyway.
If we could get Clint for Covington in 3 team trade, that would be very huge. I would imagine Minnesota would be keeping Theis in this scenario as I think Capela is good for Covington if we are lucky.
. i mean ...i gotta give it to Ainge. He's rebuilt that team while amassing a sh#t ton of picks. His free agent signings haven't all worked out, but Brown and Tatum are proving to be foundational, Kemba's a star, and he's flush with picks and other assets.
Lol we are not trading to get a steal. We are trading to save money. It doesn't matter if Ainge rips Morey off in terms of talent as long as Tilman saves his bank account.
An above average 3&D wing on a cheap 3 year deal has a lot of bidders. Covington's health scares me far more than his numbers this year.
Any chance we can pry Timelord and Bates-Diop in that trade too? Giving up Capela + FRP for just Covington & Theis leaves bitter taste in my mouth. And any news on where AG going? Hope it's not GSW.
I didn't see the play but Theis just got injured and had to be helped off the court into the locker room.
I'd rather keep Clint if teams are lowballing us. The player coming back has to make a significant impact. Tell Boston we are not interested in swapping centers and picks. It's obvious we need more creators at the wing, and true small ball 5. So If we aren't getting Collins from ATL, Brown from BOS, or Covington/plus assets from MIN then there's no deal to be made. If we ain't getting what we want, then wait until the summer.
My assumption is that ship has sailed. I also haven't been hearing much on Morris anymore outside of Harden saying to bring him in. Maybe Detroit is just weighing options. Also might depend on how much salary Houston sheds with a Capela deal. Covington is priority #1 as I'm guessing everyone knows right now. They are convinced he's the missing piece I guess. And then Houston would be downgrading center with like a Looney or a Theis, depending on the trade partner. Unrelated, but RoCo was nearly traded for George Hill last year actually. If I hear any new names tomorrow I'll try to update.
