sorry, please merge my thread. Didn't notice it is already posted in another thread. Don't know how to delete. Mods, please merge or delete. Sorry.
A new thread is much appreciated. Woj's article signals a change in direction away from the Rockets to another team he will might sign with. This is given extra weight considering Woj's reputation as a reliable poster. This thread probably belongs in the NBA Dish.
No way on earth will the Knicks be title contenders in 5 years. As weak as the East is, I wouldn't be surprised if they get out of that conference once or twice. However, they wouldn't stand a chance against any team they would have to play in the West in the Finals. As many members here have said about LeBron also applies to Melo...the West is a gauntlet, no doubt about that, but if you get out the West, you are practically guaranteed a title, because of just how bad the East really is.
What is Anthony or NY or anyone supposed to say about how the meeting went? Of course there needs to be some sort of positive spin.
Thanks for the new thread. (At least) I appreciate getting new info from a reliable source without having to scroll through dozens of pages.
If he wants to win instantly, he's not aligned. I still like our chances. NY sounds like LA last year… "how can you leave, we're us".
If it's NY then it's clearly about money and the NY lifestyle. Not about winning. If that's what Melo wants then more power to him. Just don't say you are about winning.
LOL we've heard the East sucking argument for years now. Last 11 nba champions....it's 5 for the east, 6 for the west. How does that come anywhere close to "practically guaranteed a title?"
For basketball reasons he chooses Houston, but if LaLa and family pressure are too much, he goes with NY. He knew he'd get the max all along. I don't buy for one second that he wasn't expecting NY's offer, so that's nothing new.
this. That extra year means a lot especially considering that it would be his last chance to get the max deal. It's either a sign and trade or NY.
If he signs with the Knicks then he gives up the ring.... Interesting, If I already have the money and I know no matter where I sign I'm going to get the money, then why not sign somewhere with a good chance of getting the ring? T_Man
I'm having more and more appreciation for Dwight for leaving similar $ and spotlight on the table to join us.
He left aligned, offered max money, no one can offer that much money........ yet didn't accept the deal right then!!!! Doesn't sound completely promising if I am New York, sounds a lot like me going on a date with a crazy chick, then when I drop her off at the end of the night, I throw out the obligatory, "I'll call you tomorrow!"
