At the end of the day, money is still top priority for most FAs. I bet most will sign with their own team or figure out a S&T.
the 6th year is a huge selling point to a 29 year old. lebron may not care, because in 5 years he'll sign another max contract. JJ will be 34 and probably only worth the MLE by then... but if he signs this, he'll get paid max that year. will any team in their right mind offer to match that contract so they can S&T with the hawks? will JJ be out of his mind enough to turn it down? I think he stays in ATL.
JJ is going into the downside of his career. He will give the Hawks LESS, not more. Big mistake for them to max him out at 6 years.
