Morrison was a decent player his rookie year. He had a pretty bad injury and was never really given a chance again. I feel bad for the guy, one of my all-time favorite college players.
That's pretty cold. I have no sympathy for talented players who fail because they don't have the work ethic but it doesn't seem like that was his problem. Morrison had a great college career, a lot of hype and then basically got smacked in the face in the NBA. He probably busted his ass working his entire life/career to get to '3rd pick in the draft' status. To find out that he's not only not a good nba player but not even a NBA-level player at all had to be a huge blow to his psyche. There's no obvious reason he failed like not putting in the effort. It's not like it was his fault he received so much acclaim early on. If he wasn't good enough for the NBA, talent evaluators should have spotted that early on. I don't even like Morrison (I also think he's a crybaby) but not having sympathy for someone who's psyche got crushed for no reason other than he wasn't as good as other people thought seems heartless.
Adam Morrison: "Whats that clutchfans, your on hating me? Its ok, i cant hear you, my two rings are lodged in my ears and cant hear anything!!!!!"
this thread is full of UCLA win i approve i am not sure what the scouts saw that could translate over..when i saw morrison play i felt he got a lot away with a lot of stuff and got a lot of 'star' calls which he would never get in the nba. he had a good shot but he wasnt going to be the type of player like kerr, reddick etc that could carve an nba career by being a sharpshooter. he will probably get a deal though playing in europe he is probably the biggest bust in the last 10 years in the nba, including kwame brown and darko...at least those guys were able to get multiple contracts and stay in the nba morrison never saw a second nba deal.
LOL! You guys are so fast with YouTubes it's makes me laugh. That was worse for Morrison than I remember. He was pathetic (IMO), but that's just how some guys react. To each his own I guess. A huge collective choke job by a veteran college team. That's what really blew me away.
I love how there is no such thing as racism when it comes to white people. Not one person has cried "foul". Regardless, I do feel bad for him. It wasn't from a lack of desire it seems. I think he realized pretty quickly though that his game was just never going to find a niche. Too bad he couldn't adapt and become a specialty guy in some area.
Actually, he was one of the worst rotation players in the league his rookie year. 30 minutes, 11.8 points per game with averages of 37.6% shooting and 71% from the line to go with under 3 rebounds and 2 assists. That's horrific production any way you slice it.
Darko and Morrison were actual busts. Kwame had a legit chance of being a solid player if he had worked on his game.
Adam Morrison released by Wizards Major bust even moreso than Kwame Brown . Adam Morrison has had ample oppurtunities to get his act together but stays a bum and gets released by a woeful Wizards . Roflsaurus! MAJOR BUST!!
