    that's not the point.

you mentioned the rockets having a better starting 5 and then proceeded to list a starting 5 for the spurs that ISN'T their starting 5.

We have more question marks than the Spurs...Lawson situation and then DMo's recovery.

I like our chances if those questions get sorted out positively for the Rockets...but otherwise not.

off-season roster doesn't mean a whole lot. They don't give out rings for off-season championships. Hard to say how the players are going to work together for any of the teams.

If both teams are healthy, Spurs would win a best of 7 series 4-2.

Disagree. It goes to game 7 without a doubt. Coin flip on who wins.

The Spurs are old and not very deep especially in the front court. The addition of LMA gives them some life, but I'm just not sold on the Spurs anymore.

The Spurs losing Splitter and replacing him with Aldridge and West gets more and more ridiculous the more I think about it. They were already hard to stop before. Now they've added an all-star big man that commands double teams and has a sweet jumper. They'll be tough to beat even if Duncan starts playing like his age.

It will take nothing for us to integrate Lawson into our offense.

LMA, while a much bigger impact player, will require SAS reworking their offense. They've never had a PF like him who can be a ball-stopper/black hole. While I have no doubt Pops can design a new system around LMA, I question whether the existing role-players will fit that system as much as their 2014 and 2015 system that is designed around them. It's easy for a coach to adjust a system around a star, but often hard for the role-players to make that adjustment. It might be like the effect trading a SAS player away from their comfort-zone and how they drop in effectiveness.

    In short,
    LMA is a plus player
    Role Player impact might drop

Could West and Diaw be the worst backup 4 and 5 combo in the NBA? I mean, at least defensively, it has to be close.

I dunno who's better next year.. but after next year, Spurs are definitely in the cellar. Can't imagine that team going anywhere once Duncan/Ginobli retire. They will be in NBA purgatory for the next decade.
