    No ownership needs to change.

It won't matter who the front office or coach is if Tillman sticks his big filthy paw into it.

EDIT Nvm... I was thinking of released players. Buyouts you can sign any time.

Agreed. There was very little deals to be made w/ the cap situation next year and also the earlier deadline I reckon. Big gap between best teams and the rest too.

    Tristan Thompson
    Marvin Williams
    Kyle O'Quinn
    Michael Kidd Gilchrist
    Thon Maker
Markieff Morris (i think he has a player option so unlikely)
    Ian Mahinmi
    Bismack Biyombo
    Langston Galloway

Those are the only guys I can think of off the top of my head that could logically be asking for buyouts. Also on Knicks possibly Ellington, Bullock, or Taj Gibson, but they all have non'guaranteed second years so knicks might want to hang onto them.

Im not saying its not true, Im saying Morey is a competent GM who usually knows what hes doing. One trade or not trade, doesnt change that.

Fair enough, just think given everything he has to deal with that I have little faith left. Not just a knock on him.

    You are joking right??

Sure, it doesn't make sense to go into the lux tax for the fun of it.
But surely you can see the TF has given a cost cutting mandate? Use assets to dump salaries is the repeated process, year on year

Not for thr fun of it. To win. Take some chances, be agressive, and go for it. We didnt.

Was that 1st rounder we pawned better used to get another player that could help us, or going into Tillman's pocket?

when you are relying on the uncertainty of the buyout market to fill holes in your rotation you are not properly managing your payroll and assets...
Buyout market players should be an extra added boost to your roster - not a necessary component...

Who is saying it is necessary?

Starting lineup is locked and loaded.

    No, I'm not joking.

I don't think people understand how oppressive the luxury tax is. And especially the repeater tax. It can completely hamper your ability to build a roster.

A team should only be going into the luxury tax if it means a potential championship move can be made. Teams don't just go into the luxury tax unless they absolutely have to. It's just stupid to do so.

So no, Tilman should not be blamed for doing the smart and responsible thing of staying underneath the tax. It's not about his own personal bank account... it's about smart roster-building.

What move do you suggest they should have made?
