This is the year, we'll pick 1st due to the following pattern:

    '83(Sampson),'84(Olajuwon),'02(Ming), & '10()

If you don't see the pattern....

...that is because there is no pattern.

really?! you would take Alabi with a lottery pick, bit of a stretch don't you think  ... the guy could be had in the late 1st/ early 2nd round in the draft if we really wanted him

    What about Donatas montiejunas?

If the rockets doesnt trade the pick I think they could pick him.

I wouldn't be surprised if they go that route,I think he will be a good offensive center but defense, shot blocking and rebounding/speed is what we really need.

the only weakness the rockets have is size. acquiring size through free agency or trade usually means overpaying. luckily for the rockets this draft is loaded with size. 4 years at rookie scale for a productive big man is a steal!

contrary to popular belief i think they use the pick rather than trade it. but in true rockets fashion, do they draft the biggest guy? NO! they draft the feistiest post player they can find, from one of their favorite schools...

    Kentucky's Patrick Patterson.

Just for those thinking about Jan Vesely, it doesn't seem like it will happen...

    http://www.draftexpress.com/article/Jan-Vesely-I-Decided-Not-to-Enter-the-2010-NBA-Draft-3449

Looks like he will not enter this year's draft. So, you're going to have to hope if he enter next year's draft, maybe we can just NYK's swap/Rockets' own pick. But ya, quite a ways away and not pertaining to the 2010 draft.

Also if you heck Draft Express's homepage/Twitter, they bring about the possibility of Donatas Motiejunas not entering the 2010 drat either, which is interesting. Seeing that Jay Vesely already seems to have declined even when expected to be a possible lottery pick, why not Donatas Motiejunas?

So if we get a first pick, it will be a Center.

 I DONT THINK THE ROCKETS SHOULD GIVE UP SO MUCH FOR BOSH...I WOULD JUST OFFER BATTIER,HILL,JEFFRIES, OUR 1ST ROUND PICK THIS YEAR AND THATS ALL...I DONT THINK SCOLA, HILL, BATTIER, JEFFRIES, CHUCK, OUR NY PICKS AND OUR PICKS THIS YEAR PLUS CASH IS NESSESARY IT WOULD BE CRAZY TO GIVE UP THAT MUSH FOR BOSH IN THAT CASE F*** BOSH AND GET A SF, WE REALLY DONT NEED A BOSH WHAT WE NEED IS A SF AND BACKUP CENTER FOR YAO...CAMBY, MILLER, AND SIGN AND TRADE FOR SOMEONE LIKE RUDY GAY, SHOOT MAYBE MELO AS FAR AS I KNOW HE IS NOT HAPPY IN DENVER ESPECIALLY THE WAY THE TEAM IS PLAYING IN THE PLAYOFFS. I DUNNO GET ME A STARTING SF NOTHING LBJ23 CRAZY BUT SOMETHING REALISTIC.BECAUSE ARIZA IS GOOD BUT NOT A STRATER IN MY EYES.

    C-YAO/CAMBY/MILLER
    PF-SCOLA/LANDRY/JEFFRIES
    SF-RUDY GAY/ARIZA
    SG-K-MART/BUDINGER/TAYLOR
    PG-BROOKS/LOWRY

NOT A BAD LINEUP, AND NOT VERY GOOD "D" BUT WITH YAO IN THE PAINT WITH THIS MUCH TALLENT AND SHOOTERS AROUND HIM ITS MONEY OR ALLEY ALL DAY  WHO WOULDNT WANT TO PLAY IN HOUSTON WITH THIS LINEUP.

How exactly is that not giving up a lot? With everything Hill showed at
the end of the season his stock has to be through the roof compared to
when we picked him up. And Battier is gettin' old, but he's not exactly
    and after thought.

That being said trade, trade, trade.
Either trade up in the draft or trade for Bosh.
Anything less with all the pieces the Rockets have to offer
will be less than an A grade.
