unfortunately we don't have the time or luxury of developing a 1st round pick pg since our team is almost built to make a serious championship run.

the funny thing is we had very good pg's in lowry and dragic but the circumstances made it necessary for the Rox to trade.

everyone is saying get rondo but chemistry wise I'm not sure how that's going to work.

i'm thinking the front office is taking a wait and see approach of how far the rox go and make adjustments from there.

As far as the future of the team, I think the Rockets are wanting to wait until year two or three with Canaan and Daniels. It takes that long for their young bodies to grow into NBA ready bodies. That's why TJones has finally begun to play NBA level basketball because coming out his body took this long to get NBA ready. Lin will be gone next year, these two will be on a wait and see with expectations of becoming bench specialist on a championship team.

For a guy who was picked in the second round and 34th overall, I'd say he is emerging from that rank. He might not be emerging as a star PG in this league but if he is a good 3 point shooter, does he have to be to take the backup PG minutes? Harden can run this offense any way.

Canaan reminds me of a Kyle Lowry that can shoot. I think he can be better than Lin. You have to remember he doesn't even really know what is going on out there. You can't learn plays properly without a good off season under your belt.

Following up the Troy Daniels defense talk, one thing I noticed last game was his impressive lateral quickness! He can keep a guy in front of him. The rest can be taught really, unless you're just not all there up stairs. It's that lateral speed you need. Harden and Lin don't have it god bless their souls.

Also, can come body explain to me why Lin's expiring contract isn't going to be seen as useful next year?

So is Beverley not on the team anymore...???

We are sleeping on Beverley. Many of us forget that he's kind of still a rookie by NBA playing time. He just had his first off season in the NBA this past year.

Lowry and Dragic wasn't as good as Beverley is now when they were at this stage. They couldn't get off the bench and Beverley is an intricate part of a contending team in the western conference.

But yes the Rockets can be in a wait and see approach as far as the point guard position. But as of now I think the starting backcourt is the least of their worries.

I am very excited for the potential of Canaan and Daniels (as well as Covington), but it is way too early to talk about them replacing our players or to be comparing them to people like Ray Allen.

Lin may not be in our team's plans for next season because of his contract, but then again he might be in our plans because it will be so hard to trade his contract.

It won't have any value as an expiring contract until close to the deadline, not during the offseason.
