Lin scares the **** out if me in a play off series. Hopefully he rises to the occasion and the bright lights bring out the best in him.

But truthfully I'm worried as hell about jlin.

Couldn't disagree more. I think if Canaan or Daniels had been playing earlier in the season this would be a closed case with Lin eating bench.

Canaan is a much better defender and Daniels is a much better shooter. I think both have more ability than Lin but lack experience.

I think Lin has slowly regressed as a player since being here.

We'll come back to this argument in 3 years. Not enough stats, only heresay and eye tests to back up whose dick is bigger in this debate.

Was there a place for Jeremy Lin when we acquired Harden? Therein lies your answer.

Daniels seems like a much more capable defender, he can stay with his man with consistency. Definitely more active on a general basis, but not faster than Lin on a drive or cut. Lin is less active defensively, but I think people may overrate glue-guy defense if they just end up fouling the guy.

Canaan hasn't impressed me with his play making ability, but he plays very maturely for a rookie I will say that much.

People underrate Lin's BBIQ, when he drives he's probably looking to create shots for other players and I wouldn't doubt it has something to do with coaching based on the frequency that he drives in. He can make big plays and passes that I don't think Canaan or Daniels have the experience to make. The problem is these plays are not many and far between. Last season when we were the top offense in transition, Lin played a big part.

However, I still think we are paying Lin an awful lot. I want him to stay contrary to other people here. I think he has a place on this team, but I wouldn't complain much if he were shipped.

Lin plays defense like he's on roller skates. Yes, Canaan is worlds better.

This thread actually developed into a nice conversation. Cool lol.

Obviously it is "too early to tell" but that was half the fun of creating the thread - to hear people's opinions and what they think will happen. The last sentence of my opening statement said this is looking into next year after this year's playoff. I think obviously Lin dominates the minutes this year.

I just think that, as much as I love Lin and don't want him to go, he is not that far above average for an NBA player so there isn't that much to hold on to.

Canaan and Daniels are obviously far from complete, and I would not say either of them is better than Lin right now. But it is also clear what kind of a team Daryl Morey is trying to create and what they are currently lacking and that is a consistent 3 point shot. They will have that from Canaan and Daniels. Neither of them needs to be a star for this team to succeed if they can just develop that killer 3 ball.

Thanks guys and keep up the chat!

As for those attempting to have my rights taken away and account banned for sharing an opinion and essentially just asking a question...I laugh, I laugh. Must be LOFers?

And this is how Lin threads explode. Canaan isn't 'worlds' better than ANYONE at anything. He is back in the D league because he can't play with the big boys. He's too small to cover big guards and has no savvy on the smaller quick ones. If you substituted Beverly for the beginning of your statement I could defer, but come-on man.
And Daniels???? Please look at his last year of VCU game logs...If you think Lin is inconsistent...hold on to your seats.

man, you fell hook, line and sinker for the bait. i've learned when you see extremely ridiculous posts or statements about any player just ignore it because the person is trying to get someone worked up and bait them into an argument.

no one that seriously watches basketball thinks canaan is worlds better than lin. you just made their day by taking the time to frame an argument to something that is crazy to start with.

the thing about lin is he already admitted in interviews his record sucks in the playoffs so he'll be motivated to make up for it. luckily he is coming off the bench so the initial tidal wave of intensity that comes from opening tip should be down a little by the time he gets in and at least he isn't injured now. so this year there is no excuses. hopefully he's worked out the mental blocks that have been holding him back.

Is Canaan "emerging?" Besides a few made threes (which have stopped) he hasn't been that impressive to me. Daniels on the other hand, though one dimensional may have a role as a three point specialist. Neither are on Lin's level, but Lin is not a starter. Beverly is also a bench player on most teams. Our PG position needs a serious upgrade.
