I'm a really big fan of Wilson Chandler, he's like C-bud's skill set and Parsons' attitude combined in Trevor Ariza's body. With the Nuggets already committed to major money with Gallo perhaps we might be able to do a sign and trade for him: PP+C-bud for Chandler. Nuggets get a placeholder SF as well as someone who can start alongside Nene and give the Nuggs a formidable front court. We get Chandler, and can roll with this lineup this season: Dalembert/Parsons/Chandler/Dragic/Lowry -LOL can you all defense team?
Chandler will be back in the States this week. His team is in the playoffs but the team decided to replace him since he plays completely uninspired. Chandler scored 41 points today in the last game of the season, against a team that rested all starters, to secure his team a playoff spot; and in return; they parted on friendly terms.
Good for him. His mind is with the NBA. Cannot fault him. Nonetheless I hoped he would jump on the Knicks train again..... Wait... Carmelo took hold of the spot.
Good question; perhaps not, but it will just be another 2 weeks and he can start practicing with the Nuggets during this time.
Latest out of China: his Chinese agent is trying to get the CBA to grant him a clearance letter, now. Technically he has to wait for his team to get eliminated in the playoffs which will probably be another 2 weeks; however, everybody knows that rules in China can be bent. The catch is, his Chinese agent is also Aaron Brooks', and since Brooks is the only NBA FA still playing in China, if this agent can promise the CBA that Brooks will finish the season (the agent tells Chinese media that this will be the case, and that Brooks is even thinking about staying in China next year), it may be possible that the CBA can allow Chandler to play in NBA early. The agent also revealed that, if they could get the letter before March 1, Chandler plans to explore other options, but he could only sign with the Nuggets after that date - or not play in NBA this season.
Meh If he's happy in China and doing his thing, let him be and stay in China! I don't know how he's been in China though or going back, in Phoenix. But yeah, a not-so-good ending here in Houston. MIP to "MIA", forgotten about.
Reports are coming out wrong. The March 1st deadline is the deadline for Chandler to sign the Nuggets qualifying offer. RFAs rarely ever sign qualifying offers with their team since they typically are minimum offers. That deadline has nothing to do with the ability for other teams to make him an offer and for him to sign those offer sheets. He can sign an offer sheet for however long he is a RFA. bottomline: RFAs in China can sign offer sheets with any team at any date after they get clearance from FIBA/CBA to return to the NBA. The March 1st deadline has nothing to do this.
I don't know much about this rule so I'm just quoting this article from Larry Coon http://www.hoopsworld.com/coon-are-chandler-and-brooks-stuck
Curious...then he needs to edit his CBA FAQ, because this article is in complete disagreement with his FAQ. wierd. I'm going to assume the article you posted is correct and Larry Coon's FAQ is not complete.
can someone verify if it is true that Sign and trades are not possible after the season starts...thats a weird rule. I mean technically we were trying to do a sign and trade with dalembert and chuck hayes with the kings but it fell through. So I dont think he is right... BIMA?
I dont think he is correct...because we were trying to work a sign and trade with chuck and dalembert werent we?
