Spree http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap.php#1113430969 Not that I want him, but since Sprewell is going to be a free agent this year, do you think JVG will give him a (Knicks pension) contract a la Charlie Ward? We do need a true SF although that isn't the priority. EDIT: Again, I don't want him. But I could see JVG picking him up anyway.
gotta agree with Legend no way that we can afford to pay him what he wants.... also...hasnt it been reported that both VG and Tmac prefer Tmac at the 3? If true...then what? Spree at the 2? or backup to the 2 and 3?
Even with the free burgers at the Toyota Center, Spree would probably starve to death on the pittance the Rockets would be able to pay him.
JVG quit as Knicks coach because he couldn't handle Spree. Now what makes you think he would want Spree again??
According to this report the GM has said the Cassell and Spree addition was a "failed" experiment GM of the Wolves not pleased
We don't need a "true" SF unless you want Tracy to have to chase guards around for 20 of his 40 mpg. We tried this strategy - it was a total disaster for the first three months of the year.
Spree doesn't seem to have much game left this season, next season can only be worse especially with him starving all summer long and showing up malnourished.
Sprewell isn't a true SF, he's a 2 guard. He's just been forced to play out of position much of his career.
CD wont let it happen... I think JVG is smart enough to know that Tracy and Yao are very soft spoken guys and doesnt need a guy like Spree around them to mess thier heads up...
When I read "go after" Sprewell, I thought this thread was about throwing down, Mourning-style. Does anyone know how good their relationship was in NY? I know other people have pointed out that Sprewell wants a lot of money, but I don't think any team is going to pay him the big bucks this summer after his crappy, selfish season. The problem to me isn't price as much as the fact that he probably would want to start, and he shoots too much.
