Fyi he has been playing them in b2b. Last week when they went to 3 OT with Memphis , he still played them the very next game but rested a game after
Unless KD misses a boatload more games, OKC isn't about to be a 7th or 8th seed. 5th is a borderline possibility IMO.
If you avoid them, who do you want to play? Clippers? Mavericks? There is no cakewalk in the West no matter what. You might as well make sure you get a little advantage by securing the home court.
The NBA needs to learn to kick the Spurs while they're down. Maybe a little throat stomp wouldn't hurt.
The Spurs will still win 50 games, and they know that the Suns and Pelicans won't. Worst case scenario is they have to start their engines earlier than they would like. As weird as it sounds, I don't thinks seeds mean anything in the West this season. The first round is gonna be a free for all.
OKC is 6 games behind Dallas for the 6th seed. Dallas hasn't hit their "stride" yet so I say that's out of the question unless Dallas goes on a long losing streak. They are 5 games behind the Clips. And the clips haven't hit their stride either. Those 2 teams will keep winning enough to fend off late surges. And right now, Im sure Brooks doesn't care for the seedings, but the health of his 2 best players. He may even rest them prior to the playoffs. Yes. One team doesn't defend or rebound, and one team with its best player never out of the 2nd round (and Griffin stagnating as a player this year). Dallas is the worst team of all the playoff teams in the West. OKC is making it even if Durant sat out the whole season. WB is too good. Leonard's injury should worry Pop. It appears it's not going to fully heal and can get reinjured at any time. If he misses anytime or isn't at least 90% healthy by the playoffs, then you can count SA out.
but if PHX starts losing that gives them more incentive to trade Dragic and if NO loses our pick is worth more. forget about seeding. You have to play the best to get to the WCF anyhow, and I want my NO's pick to be worth the most.
The way the Western Conf. is this season, they just might miss the cut. But of course, never count out the Spurs. I guess they're the team that's most fun to speculate about whether they'll make the playoffs or not. Hope tonight's game sets them back a little further.
no way. The Spurs always finish strong towards the end of the season. It's been going on like that since forever?
Yeah, they lost 20 games last year. (dropped 4 of their last 10) so I suppose they'll only lose 3 games the remainder of this season.
Nah, this year they are done tbh. They will make the playoffs, but are a first round exit this year. First time I'm saying this. But, you can see it in the way they play. Those long runs three years in a row with older players is taking its toll.
Yeah their current Spurs team had a 4 year title window and only won it one year. Its pretty incredible they failed to win more in this past 4 year window, they were better than the Heat in at least 3 of those years.
