No. I wasn’t aware the Cleveland fan base was cut off from the rest of society. There is something called social media. Social media provides mediums that allow fans from across the country and world to interact with each other without having to physically be in the same place. It’s really a breakthrough in technology. During the Wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwindians streak, you didn’t have to look far to find a **** ton of Cleveland fans acting like they were going to roll through the playoffs to win the WS and nothing could stop them. Welp, turns out they were wrong. Sounded much like Yankee fans who now declare they will roll through whomever. We will see. Check out social media sometime, you might like it.
We also had lots of Astros fans here during the Indians' winning streak saying they were unstoppable, there was no chance we could beat them, etc. It wasn't remotely limited to the Indians fan base.
So you, being a Rockets fan (like me), were saying what during the Rockets 22-game win streak? Cuz I was saying "Rockets to the Championship!"... Just because you're annoyed of their win streak, and their fans are excited for their team's success doesn't necessarily make them obnoxious in my opinion.
I’m sure I was fired up, but I tend to be a realist when it comes to Houston sports. I wasn’t ready to declare that Rockets team a champion in waiting knowing T-Mac’s history of playoff failure. Until they made it out of the first round I was hesitant to get too excited ( for my own health!) Don’t get me wrong, the Indian’s streak was impressive. It was also, to me at least, annoying to see them seemingly get every break while the Astros struggled. And, I know not every Indians fan was planning a parade in downtown CLE. But what made me say they were getting Yankee fan obnoxious, beyond the WS talk, went beyond the streak. This included declarations that Jose Ramirez and even Francisco Lindor were better MVP candidates than Altuve, and even in the playoffs, their players and broadcasters getting ahead of themselves. Just seemed like some on team and parts of fan base were completely disregarding it’s competition. They have a nice team and will be back. And I hope Astros are there to stand in the way!
