Will the Dan Tony ever increase the size of his short bench?

There is no excuse tonight ... On the second half of a back to back to give guys like Troy some burn .

GS has great shooters ; but part of what makes them so deadly is that those shototers can put their legs into every shot becuase they can get a blow when they need it.

You could do a case study of Trevor Ariza's shooting and it's obvious to the eye how much better he shoots with fresh legs .

It's crazy to think that in a system that relies so much on the 3 that we continually ignore resting players .

Dantoni isn't as good as pop and Kerr has the luxury of being able to put 2 all-stars on the floor at all times ....

But Mike needs to have a longer leash with the bench . Bobby literally saved that game last night ... I have no doubt that if he wasn't playing up to Mike's standards last night that Mike would've run both harden and Gordon out there for 40 minutes and neither would've had juice to close the game ... Much less come to play tonight .

I wonder how our shots will look tonight .

Of course it's injuries. Who else do you want to see out there? We played Bobby freaking Brown last night. Are you wanting Qi or Williams? Because they're just not ready or up to the task. MDA's playing pretty much everyone he has. We're missing 2 starters and a major rotation player in Nene. Who else is he supposed to play?

And, as I recall, we played 10 or 11 guys real minutes last year all the way up to the playoffs. This is an outdated take on MDA.

How many teams in the league right now are missing two starters/three rotation players? Of course our guys are playing heavy minutes. We're missing a huge chunk of our team.

Morey added Chris Paul, PJ Tucker, Mbah a Moute, Tarick Black, and resigned Nene.

No GM is immune to injuries. We also happen to be in first place. And that's without a perennial all-star in Paul, our top glue guy in Ariza, and our toughest big man in Nene.

Do we need rescuing? And, if we do, is Troy Williams or Onuaku going to rescue us?

I'd like to see Canaan get a few more minutes to see if he can contribute. That's it. The rest of our healthy players that aren't getting time are 'practice' players. None of them was ever going to be in the rotation this year.

And we're 5-1 with some really impressive wins.

Sorry for the manic posting... Haven't even read the whole thread yet. But we don't have a short rotation.

We're playing 8 guys lately, with one of them obviously not a rotation player when we're healthy (Bobby Brown or Canaan or Jackson). That means we're playing 7 guys we're always going to play. And three guys that we're always going to play if they're not injured.

That's a 10 man rotation, 9 of which will get serious minutes every night and possibly 10 depending on whether or not we need Tarick Black. That's not a short rotation.

Or maybe it's because of the injuries?

nah no reason deep bench players shouldnt get 2-5mpg when the team needs it. even hasheem was able to do that for okc in the playoffs. and this is november, the least competitive month of the season. teams trying to figure out their rotation and stuff. this is a serious flaw. more serious than morey signing ryan for 80m.

Canaan and Jackson have no business being in rotation. One down one more to go.

It’s hard to judge them on tonight’s game.

Every time when you will play Memphis, it will always be a grind physically and mentally, it’s always like that, if you want to win, you will need to commit a lots.

Yes, but rotation is actually a 9 man rotation, if all starters healthy. Nene and Black will take turns backing up Capela so count each as a half.

    Paul-Gordon
    Harden-Gordon
    Ariza-PJ
    Anderson-Prince
    Capela-Nene/Black

If any of above injured, the rotation shrinks to 8 unless it's a blowout or MDA forced to play end of bench guy for 5 minutes or less.

Yeah but that's when i'd give few minutes to guys like Qi and Troy, even yesterday, up 13 with 1:30, the game was over, he could've let a couple of those guys get some playing time, this should also help to prevent injuries, i get that it's hard to get injured in garbage time but still, you never know.

McHale did this **** too. Dantoni needs to stop playing our starters to death.

How do you play Ariza 35 min coming off an injury ???!!!!

Either Ariza wasn't really hurt , or that's the surest way to get him re-injured .

Come back to your post when everyone is healthy and you'll still see an 8 man rotation with heavy minutes to the starting 5. MDA refuses to play more than 8 period. Guaranteed dead legs in May.

You are right with a healthy roster Mike plays about 9 guys on this team. I think the concern here is that with the current injuries the remaining rotation are playing heavy minutes and some of us are surprised that Troy Williams is not being used for a few minutes to spell some of our rotation players. Troy showed himself a capable player last season, maybe he is in the doghouse and we don't know. In terms of not having decent playmaker to back up Harden and CP3 that is on Morey and MDA is in a tough spot. CP3 and Gordon have been known to miss games during past seasons and we apparently did not have a good plan in place at the start of season if this event occurred. Hopefully Gordon will be back next game and CP3 down the road.
The loss to Memphis and scoring way below 100 was no surprise given the injuries and the current rotation players logging in heavy minutes in yesterdays game.

And he casually plays Ariza 35 minutes and refuses to go beyond 8 players. Way to go COACH!
