Chandler made this team work as a unit. But McHale gave Harden the authority...

It's been a bit to and fro, people let the rose colored glasses hide it from them, and now the dark tinted glasses have taken over. It was always there, it was a point of frustration for me last year, and especially in the playoffs, but now its being way overplayed.

Depends on what 'Chemistry' defines - I believe the starting lineup will play better in having Ariza in there over Parsons. Regardless of whatever issues Parsons may or may not have caused behind closed doors - one thing is clear: He was playing for a contract last year - most of us though did not know that but he clearly did and the Rockets front office did too. Most players want to pad their stats in a contract year, even if it was to the detriment to the team. Now factor in how little Parsons was paid thus far - it shouldnt be a surprise he tried to do his best to "show off"

I think overall though the 'chemistry' aka Reg. Season wins maybe down for the team. Ariza improves the starting 5 units playing off the strengths of their two best players in Harden and Howard, but losing Omer Asik and Lin off the bench is a big loss in term of bench talent.

We do have some young guys to help fill that void - but the talent gap at least right now is too large -- especially when you factor in Asik is one of the best defensive bigs in the league and a starter on almost any other team.

Nick Johnson, Isiah Canaan, Troy Daniels, Kostas Papanikolaou, Joey Dorsey, Jeff Adrien - these guys are all relatively unproven and while talented have to show that they can consistently be able to perform at the NBA level.

D-Mo - has the experience and talent and it shows in flashes but just is not consistent.

Terry and Garcia - both of these guys esp terry - their age is their major handicap. No one really knows how much Terry has left in the tank and Garcia is a very hot/cold type player.

The bench will definitely lose more than their fair share of games this season. But that should be attributed more to the loss of Asik and Lin than losing Parsons.

It turns out that DMo was referring to Parsons when he said that the Rockets ate fast food all the time. :)

We had the 2nd worst bench in the entire nba last year (even philly's bench blew ours up in the magnitude of double figures...twice), there's not that far to drop, yeah losing lin and asik is losing talent, but asik was out half the season, useless for another quarter and a starter for an 8th (that's where it might really hurt, injuries to dwight and james) and lin was basically alone on an island with the rest of our bench unit, there was no one for him to even pass too, lol (ronnie brewer? omri casspi?). Since bench players are usually inconsistent, the successful ones generally aren't loading up on a core player or two, but more of a spread and basically trying to ride the numbers that 1 of them will have a good game on any given day, last year that guy had to be lin, every single game because no one else was even capable of a "good game" by nba standards, it had to be lin, which is why we in turn heaped more criticism on him that was really warranted.

This year the parking lot sniper might get hot, a lot, Terry could have a game every cpl weeks, Papa every week or so, Dmo looks like he might be more of a 1 on 3 off rather than 1 on 15 off guy, Adrien looks like he might provide actual energy, another new thing.

I dunno... Asik made himself known the previous season, but this current Rocket team never benefited from him because of his ego. We didn't see great moments from him in 13-14, barely any minutes and he built no chemistry, so this team almost loses nothing with him gone. I loved the guy, but without hands or any offensive go-to game, he's still just a great bench player at best.

And Lin... the "human bad-decision" Lin (who I ALSO liked) usually undid anything he did well by doing something bone-headed. He was a great guy and seemed to possess a lot of potential, but I'd rather have a better shooter, or a better assist-man, or a better defender take that spot, then someone who isn't blessed with at least 1 of those 3 things. Maybe Lin and Asik's stats or names deceive us, but I don't think they'll be heavily missed because neither of them helped this team in any substantial way during the 13-14 campaign.

I think our changeup will lead to a dose of chemistry that will overall be better for the team. Its a gamble letting go of names that go hand in hang with decent playing time, but I think all these moves will be like WD40 on the door hinge come next season. I think the talent gap is less than we think, purely because seldom-used and overrated players were replaced by younger, hungry specialists.

Multiple reports have indicated that Mr. Parson is rather fat for a professional athlete.

Is it a bad thing that Chandler left the team? Let the board know your opinion with some detail -- my question is open for discussion.

    100% yes

The ingrate was playing for his numbers and his next contract.

When Dwight talked about agenda, pretty sure it referred to this drama queen Chandler Portions.

At least now Howard and Harden have someone else to take along when they go out to eat.

No it was not a good thing, but it was not a tragedy either, He was in no way irreplaceable. The fact that Ariza costs almost half the money and does the same or more than what Parsons used to do makes everything ok.

Parsons and Lin had so much ego. Good riddance. Not team players.

Parsons had a lot of issues defensively, but chemistry on the court wasn't one of them, stop grasping for straws.
