dont know if the Warriors will be able to pay Klay, Curry, Iggy, Bogut, and then Barnes... im also forgetting Lee He has underrated potential.... he is what i hoped Chase Budinger to be <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/jf_qyalTcTU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/6IkiSjq0gaU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> He will also most likely be a 6th man this upcoming season
He may be good but he's no Harden. Barnes is a jumpshooter. Harden is a foul shout machine. Harden can force the action.
Harrison Barnes doesn't have the handles, floor game and court vision necessary to be a truly elite perimeter player that a team can build an offense around. He can be a great 3rd option on a contender because of his shooting and slashing ability.
Of the young, up-and-coming talent in the NBA, I'm most intrigued by Damian Lillard. I think he has the potential to have a CP3-esque impact over the course of the next decade. Just for grins, here's how their rookie campaigns stack up: CP3: 78 games, .430 FG%, .282 3PT%, .847 FT%, 5.1 TRB, 7.8 AST, 16.1 PPG DL: 82 games, .429 FG%, .368 3PT%, .844 FT%, 3.1 TRB, 6.5 AST, 19.0 PPG
It won't be too hard for Barnes to keep yelling foul after everything. Then Barnes can be a Harden plus, a jump shooter and a foul shouter.
I honestly do not know how any fan could confuse a franchise player like Harden for someone who might make an all star team or two. It just boggles my mind OP. Bring something better next time. This post may be ten yards wide, but it is just an inch deep. Do try not to be a content free thread starter. What would have worked well is if you had gone back to their rookie measurements, contrasted their college careers, did a comparison of their rookie seasons and then made reasonable projections of Barnes future. But that would have been real work.
Wouldnt say its poor man's, like he's a Chase Budinger. More like a Nets Richard Jefferson. Good all around skills, can slash and cut, not enough handles and vision to be a Vince Carter James Harden type swingman
Barnes is a superior shooter to Harden. I don't see that changing. He's deadly with the spot-up jumper. Perfect form. Great quick release. And he's got great size to get it off over practically every defender. Love that shot. But Barnes can't run pick and roll as the handler. They're different players. Barnes superior shooter. Harden superior playmaker. The difference between Harden's ability to make plays compared to Barnes is greater than Barnes' spot-up shooting ability over Harden's.
