Why the Hell does Oprah get a Presidential Medal of Freedom??

And y'all are trying to claim that racism is over. This post just goes to show exactly how alive and well racism is in the United States.

 

Is it racist that they're actually committing crimes?

 

No, it is racist that they get longer sentences for the same crimes and are disproportionately targeted, particularly by the Drug War, for crimes that they commit at the exact same rates as white people.

 

Stupid medal. We award far too many medals.

Racism is probably a very small factor in that. Historical Racism is probably a factor, but there is a problem with the culture within inner-city communities that is causing a stat like that to persist.

Being President is a difficult and stressful job. To pretend that they don't work much is just wrong. They need time to relax. They aren't just a figurehead.

 

Because she's black.

There are dozens, if not hundreds, of these types of studies out there if you actually were interested. Are there really people out there that don't believe being black is a disadvantage when it comes to criminal justice?

But... none of those reports commented if the increased time was due to being repeat offenders.

 

Do you really believe ALL of these scientific studies don't take things like this into account when they are trying to look at this data? People wanted hard evidence - here it is. Where is the research that show that these studies are flawed? It seems there's quite a bit of people that want to show that there's no racial bias - where is their hard research?

They don't know how to do it. They prefer relying on "common sense" and "everyone knows that..." statements that they hear the pundits spew.
