I think this is definitely a case of classical conditioning. Basically because D-wade (or any other superstar for that matter) drives to the hoop, they usually finish. So Refs tend to equate Dwade driving = finish. When he drives and doesn't finish, they think something must have happened and calls a foul.

On the other hand Tmac hasn't been himself lately so he hasn't been finishing. As a result his superstar status has been revoked so he's been getting normal player treatment instead (only get calls if clearly fouled).

Yao Ming is worse though. I think the fact that he's been blocked by the rim and by other players so much (although its not as much as we think, his blocked attempts are usually so dramatic they stick with the mind)that the refs have been conditioned that he WON'T finish, so they don't give him calls even if he was clearly fouled/hacked etc. He's actually getting rookie treatment out there lol.

Because he's soft and plays soft! Wafer gets to the basket better than Tracy does.

I really think it has something to with Houston. The refs seem to have something against us. It happened to Olajuwon. Its happening to Tracy, Yao, and now Artest is getting the same treatment. Maybe i have my homer glasses on but it sure seems like thats whats going on
