We are off to a great 19-5 start this season, Harden is a bonafide MVP candidate, all the while we have to yet play a full stretch with all hands on deck, and yet I continue to notice the envy for more players whether or not they fit our style. We spent the offseason head-over-heels first for Melo, and then for Bosh. Now, we are pent up about Rando. Seriously, is this just a case of coveting the neighbor's wife? Sure, this team could improve its position with another big upgrade, but do we really need to feel so desperate about it right now in December? Is this a side-effect of the "players = assets" mentality? We now covet everyone and anyone we can be involved in trade talks about? Sounds more like an unhealthy addiction. Fans on this board have unreal expectations of what Morey can do at this point with trades and exceptions. Time to dial it down and just enjoy the season.
Because we are 19-5 and only third in the west, 3 games ahead of 7th place and only 1.5 games ahead of 6th...West is too loaded for us to not try and improve our roster...
Because we’re not trading Harden or Howard or anyone who’s contributed mostly to this great start. Wanting Brewer to play over Garcia, for example, does not mean I haven’t appreciated the Rockets start. Wanting Rondo over Terry, for example, does not mean I don’t appreciate Terry’s play so far.
Sounds like you got a Daryl Morey problem, not a GARM problem. He's the one who likes assets and flexibility and wanting/needing a third star and always looking to make a move and they're gonna make a move by December 19th so they can make another move later to probably set up another move later so they can go chase [star player x] in free agency and do this and do that. When the GM is always looking to make a move (no matter how big or small), why are you surprised the fans, to put it in your words, are "envious for more players"?
I don't even want a star, haven't for two years. I want a real shooter, a real bench big and a true sixth man that can create.
Me too but the chances for all that to flow nicely are slim, we need a good substitution pattern and we don't have that. Not only that but our philosophy is 3 stars. We don't believe in medium players, just high and low, 3's and lay ups.
Gee, I don't know. Let me think.... http://espn.go.com/nba/statistics/player/_/stat/minutes/sort/avgMinutes
Uhh... Because Mornay conditioned us to be this way. Every deadline, Rockets fans get no sleep. Been that way for years now.
Tonight's game is perfect example! We aren't going to win come playoff time by running Harden into ththe ground
Because Haden has to play out of his mind for this team to win. 1 bad game by Harden and we lose. I guess people think Harden can score 40 a night
