He is the one who did not adjust appropriately to the Nene injury. He is the one who played a moronic 7 player rotation which wore out the whole team by overtime. He is the one who failed to call any timeouts to provide help to our team in OT. He is the one who failed to play Lou Williams, at all, at end of regulation or OT when he was rested and an offensive weapon that was very much needed. Lastly, and most importantly, he failed to get the troops up for the last game and made no adjustments towards taking Harden off the center and playing Montrez. The coach is the culprit for the last two games failures!!!
hes not gett a free pass from me! tight ass rotations, overplaying players who shouldnt be out there long like ariza and eg. paranod about going into his bench.
Their 10 man killed us (Simmons) and all we had to do was play Dekkar. When Dekkar's name was finally called he hit 2 threes in less than 1 minute of play and made things happen on both ends. Had he been put in game 5 we would be playing today, IMO. That is all on the coach. Harrell gave us solid play in the season. Why not give him some burn just for a different look if nothing else we had Harden defending their bigs and getting beaten down. Harden's career is different now both good and bad because of the coach. MDA is the main reason we were there but he is also the reason we lost, too.
That rotation killed the team, it is his fault. That being said I'd take him over Mchale anyday. If we still had Mchale Corey Brewer would be getting 40 minutes a game LMAO.
Oh he's not getting a free pass... I've got plenty of blame to dish for everybody - and MDA certainly makes the list! lol
Halarious. Your superstar player carelessly throws the ball away 3 times in OT, then purposely quits the next game, yet you think its on the coach? What strategy can counter your best player not wanting to compete?
Why is Jeff Biglydick getting a free pass? Our defense only showed up for the 1st game of each playoff series
I've always looked at D'Antoni as a great regular season coach that was flawed come playoff time. He could get your team to the WCF with the right offensive personnel but he's never been known for his on the spot adjustments in game. As great of a roster as Phil Jackson had in his coaching days I thought he was always good at making in game adjustments. You knew he had his offensive rotations of starters to bench at different periods of the game and was always hesitant to call time outs even if the Bulls or Lakers started to lose by 10+ because their opponents went on a run but he'd let his stars play through it. Come the second half though, especially the 4th quarter he'd unload all those time outs he was using sparingly at just right the moments to stop opponent momentum. Of course it helped he had Jordan, Pippen, Kobe, Shaq and Pau throughout his tenure but he was also good at on the fly adjustments. D'Antoni to me is the Wade Phillips of the NBA. He'll get your team in the playoffs for the first year or two but then the defense gets progressively worse after that and the system starts to fail. I'd love to be wrong. He certainly exceeded any reasonable fans expectations of the Rockets this year so hopefully with the right offseason personnel adjustments he'll lead us to a chip.
If one truly gives everything there is nothing left to give. This real life not a video game. How can one guard the post, run the point and be the primary scorer plus play 40+ minutes at an all world level. That is what was asked of him by the coach. That is on the coach not the player.
You and FTW just can't move on... Like Nancy Pelosi still talking about George Bush. Upset we made it to the WCF under a good coach who decided to bench Harden in the elimination game 6 of the 2nd round? Waaaaaaaaah more kiddy.
We just have a lot of blame to spread around, man! Sorry we haven't heaped enough on D'Antoni, yet. Thanks for helping out.
what he was doing worked. James churning the offense to a half, turning it over etc was the cause. Not having the balls to sit harden was what you can blame him for doe
Lol. How exactly does one find himself so tired he takes ZERO shots in the 1st qtr? No superstar passes up WIDE OPEN shots in the most crucial game of the season. Your making excuses for a quitter, which is troubling. What we saw was CLEARLY not fatigue. It was a guy that didnt want to play
