Why hasn’t Morey ever prioritized acquring a shooting specialist?

He acquired a knockdown shooter in Ennis but Tilman was too cheap.

My guess is that they're overvalued to him...just like average sized bigs.

It's nice, but they better be 3nD for him to open up his wallet. Tucker payed off in spades just by practicing a few spots and making them.

Ryno had other attributes like a stretch four but he got old (one ****ing dunk did him in for weeks) and mentally broken. Not enough gravity for Ryno, but enough promise to pay him the asking price of whales.

Your title says Shooting specialist, so now there is a difference between shooting and scoring?

Korver is not very good anymore, and JJ made $20M last year, hes 34 and making $12M+ this year These guys are not as valuable as a true 3 and D guy, who Morey has always pursued, As others have mentioned they have gone after JJ before.

It's a little misleading to say the Rockets offered Redick more money. They first offered him a 4-year contract, then changed it to a 3-year. The TOTAL value of the Rockets contract was greater than the 1-year deal he signed with Philly for $23M, but the per-year value was not anywhere close to what the Sixers offered. He signed a second 1-year contract with them this summer for about $12M.

Tolerable shooters who play defense are better players and much cheaper than elite shooters who can be exposed in a switch.

If you are a great shooter and good defensive player, you are probably making over 20 million dollars even if you have zero ball handling skills.

JJ Redick has said that he was prepared to come to Houston if we offered him a 4th year on his contract, I believe.

Reports were we almost had Ellington until Riley backed out. Other posted have addressed Reddick. I think Morey would love to have a knock down shooter. It just hasn’t worked out for whatever reasons.

Maybe because over the last 3 seasons on average we have been the best or 2nd best offensive team in the NBA? Why would we prioritize an offensive specialist when it's our defense that has collapsed?

i’m all in for nick young...bring in knuckleheads who are unafraid to shoot instead of those brickers..the coach never adjust his offense in the game anyway
