I remember Tommy Heinsohn on a game broadcast talking about how "Sedale looks pretty large in the shorts" because he was so out of shape.
That was just a horrible trio of players. None of those 3 did the little things to help a team. Ok, in fairness, I'll give Baker a few good but never outstanding years early in his career where he was an ok PF.
I remember him and Robert Horry were at Kung-Fu off of Washington. Everyone was on Horrys dick and probably didnt know who Wesley was...So I went and shook his hand instead....lil groupie moment I know EAD lol.... I cant remember SF that played with Francis, Mobley, Cato, Mo Taylor...He wore long socks....cant remember his name for jack....
Always wondered why Buck's numbers weren't better. Didn't watch enough Rockets games during that stretch to ascertain. He seemed real athletic and a good team player (maybe that's why).
Vin Baker, Charles Oakley, Rod Strickland, Mark Jackson, Weatherspoon, Charlie Ward Holy ****. I remember those days....
Baker was only one of many washed up players donning Rockets uniform in the last decade. Charles Oakley, Mark Jackson, Rod Strickland, just on top of my head. We were the NY Knicks retirement home.
He was actually a really good player on the Bucks, and his early years in seattle.he had a mid range jumper, and a nice back to the basket postup game.
I always questioned that acquisition of Stanley Roberts, Antoine Carr (wtf) and of course JVG's washed up homies: Ward, Oak, Strickland, etc... Those were some weird days. I think the player that JVG REALLY messed up with was Derek Anderson. He could have put up much better numbers for us if JVG wasn't so stubborn. Despite all that, I would crap skittles if Morey signed JVG once McHale realizes he's out of his league.
And why didn't The Wizard play much longer? He wasn't that old, if I remember. Don't forget Carlos Rogers! Remember him? He was part of the Quitten trade, but he actually had some good games with us. It's weird how players just disappear off of the map. #StevieFrancis #Cuttino #Moochie
When i think of Rod Strickland I think of Hakeem chasing him down from behind in the playoffs and swatting his layup into the upper deck at The Summit.
