This reminds me of those TI-83+'s and other similar models. They never seem to depreciate in value because people absolutely refuse to re-sell them for anything lower than the $80 range. Biggest scam out there
People overvalue their possessions. I see it all the time in my company's classifieds. They sell 5 year old TVs for about $50 less than it's original price. It's crazy.
Have you ever been inside of an ikea? I'd imagine hell looks similar. Also, putting their **** together is a pain in the ass.
with added sales tax, the new kayak is really selling for ~$325 retail. so his offer to sell at $375 is only $50 more and truly a bargain.
Never. Someone explained the business model to me (walk through a maze and buy particle board). That was enough for me to pledge to never enter an Ikea.
I'll sell you my silver edition TI 83+ for $60 Actually, I almost never used it. Don't even remember why I purchased it...
Kayaks are probably not commoditized enough to have a standard retail value, so your whole premise, especially based on apparently one vendor's comparison, is likely flawed. Also remember that retailers sell under retail value all the time, probably for the converse of whatever logic behind your initial question.
This site is popular. With popularity comes dumbasses. I'm not talking about subjective distaste for the thoughts of another. These people would not find food in the wild. They are life's euphemistic "miracles."
Usually if the previous owner has invested in improvements on said items, then I see why they would want to charge more.
