It would be nice if there was something iconic Houston could be known for like Prince(Minni) or Miami Vice(Miami). What does Houston have to rep but hurricanes, swamp weather, old oil money, and good ethnic food? Beyonce or Riff Raff themed jerseys? They should just make really sweet jerseys like other cities that don't have a lot to rep but instead we are repping another country because they liked a couple of players who were on our team. It's both lame AND a blatant money grab. I hope people in China aren't buying this **** but they probably are and that's why Nike is doing this to us.
The Miami jersey is blowing every jersey out of the water, people in china want good looking jerseys too. they aren't just going to buy it cause it's in chinese.
...but I think good looking is a relative term. What looks good for American street style is probably not all that desirable in Chinese street style and vice versa.

I would think the people of China would want something cool to wear...maybe even Americanized or something that actually has to do with, I don't know, the city?
Look at their intro Will ours have James Harden driving around in Beijing or Shanghai? It doesn't say HOUSTON on our jerseys
It's funny how a team without an identity, on and off the court, right now can't even have a City Edition jersey that evokes anything about the city the team plays in.

I approve of this message - Space City is dope AF. Doing the jersey in the Nasa font would be soo great. I almost want to learn graphic design just so I can pull together some graphics that show what this would look like - take that electric blue color as the base, use white, black, and red for accents with the NASA font - I can see that making some noise.
Oil, NASA, and screwed-n-chopped rap (Screwston) are all unique signifiers of our great city. I'm tired of cow-towing to Chinese investors, especially when it comes to representing our city!
This whole identity issue is because of Les Alexander. He never loved Houston. He lived in NYC and Florida the whole time. The only time he had to show love to Houston was when natural disasters happen and he has to donate to the city. I mean the dude moved the championship trophies to Florida after he sold it, that says everything right there.
Represent with money. If you don't like it remember the Oilers. then sued for copyright infringement.
People who are not from Houston or even in America would buy this jersey cause it would look good and would be authentically Houston. People in China can buy shirts with chinese letters in any store for any team, since it's represents some foreign place makes it stand out.
