You both are right. Barkley did refer to a conversation he had with Jordan after Pippen had his tirade. I also remember Jordan making fun of Barkley on numerous occasions. ------------------ Fuggetabout it
We DON'T want Oakley!!! ------------------ Rarely is the question asked: Guns kill squirrels than REDRUM to fools across the nation?
There is nothing about Oakley's game ON THE COURT that this team could not use. Period. ------------------
i personally think Oak is a guy youd love to hate, of course when he's on the other team. but having him on your team to get your back AND challenge your star player to giving his best performance (remember vince in the playoffs?), i think thats a plus. as far as money issues go, i have no idea. but i never supported Oak when Bark was in town, cuz we ALL know Bark OWNED Oak's a$$. i love recalling the FIRST rematch after Oak cheap fouled Bark that one season/fight, and they both got ejected...well our Charles skooled the hell out of him, it was such a masterpiece of a game. ------------------ purvis was never short.
1) He's old, and he plays older than he is. 2) He doesn't have a good jumper. He'll take it, but he won't make it consistently 3) He wasn't even that good of an enforcer against the anemic PF's of the Least, and now you want to play him against the West? That's a recipe for disaster. 4) He costs a lot. 5) He talks more than he should, for example, criticizing younger players, then teaching them all a valuable lesson that you should pimp slap anyone who doesn't pay up on time. Or, pays up, but doesn't pay the ridiculous interest rate you retroactively put on the money owed. 6) I don't like him. Kenny Thomas could do the same things Oakley does, except cheaper and without all the controversy. ------------------ It was the time of the preacher, in the year of '01 Now the preachin' is over, and the lessons begun . . .
"Is Brian Skinner that promising or, as I suspect, could we not have put together a comparable offer to obtain EXACTLY what this team needs" Brian Skinner isn't promising...he's better than Oakley. In Oakleys best days he had a good mid-range jumpshooter and was a subpar rebounder. Now he's old and has lost his jumper and cant get 2 inches off the ground. And he seems to try and act like Barkley with the stuff he says to the media, for which only Charles could do. So, to sum it up...he's an old, grouchy Mo Taylor that has lost his jumpshot. Now why would we give up anyone on our team for that...I'm not sure I'd give up Cato for him. ------------------ Who needs teachers? I can learn my own self.
I would rather trade for Othella Harrington. He's younger and played before for the Rockets. If Hakeem ain't sure to come back, Houston ought to consider Harrington. I doubt it though, that the Rockets can get back Harrington.(he's with the Knicks) ------------------
I agree that I'd love to see Othella back in Houston! Hopefully Oakley going to New York only enhances the possibility of reacquiring Othella in Houston. ------------------
