Just to put things into perspective.

Matt Schuab (6 Starts) Record 2-4

Case Keenum (7 Starts) Record 0-7

That's fine. Keenum is just learning/improving.

He won't win a game this year with the way our defense and o-line is playing... even if he does score a lot of points and throw countless TD's............... but that won't happen because our o-line completely sucks.

This is the problem I see with keeping Keenum around to compete for the job when the Texans draft another QB...

Like with VY, there is a small but vocal minority who will do nothing but agitate nonstop for starting Keenum. If Keenum doesn't start, it will be because the coach has a secret grudge against Keenum. If Keenum doesn't play well it will be because the coach doesn't know what he's doing, or because the other player all suck or whatever (though if Keenum plays at all well it will be 100% Keenum). If the draftee QB is anything less than perfect, the only reason he will be starting is because they are paying him lots of money and just don't want to admit they were wrong to do something other than declare Keenum permanent starter for life. And so on.

It's "Vince Young Syndrome". Maybe not on quite the same scale, but there is definitely some of that out there.

Hmmm curious... Vince Young Syndrome sounds very similar to Jeremy Lin Syndrome.

I agree. He definitely has some impressive skills, but he has some glaring deficits. I would like to see what he could do on a good team, but that won't happen here.

More importantly is the 4 straight games with an interception for Case. Of course Schaub is still sitting with 9 TD and 10 interceptions for the season, so Kubiak praising him as if he just came in lead us to a victory against the Seahawks in Seattle is silly after the failed 4th down conversion, an interception and a sack to end the game.

not fair - schaub had a healthier roster. a more fair comparison would be

Schaub (6 Starts) = teh suck

Keenum (7 Starts) = teh suck

Texans Quarterbacks (13 Starts) = teh suck

He was a zero, an illusory hero and now will go out like Nero.

Safe to say Yates is now the better option to keep as back up QB for next season?

I would like to thank Keenum for sucking ass to end the year instead of making us think he was the answer then starting off next season with this level of sucking.

Now we can get a real qb and let Mr. Case fight to be the backup next year.

I would rather have Keenum over Yates hands down. At least Keenum brings some excitement to the field.
