You'd actually think this would improve with the acquisition of Dwight but we're among the worst in the League in that category now.
cause you dont get assists if you throw it in the paint and he take 4-5 dribbles and spins a couple times and scores. That and with Dwight in the paint there's less penetration....add to that the closest thing you have to a true PG comes off the bench and his job is now to score more.
Hack a Dwight taking up our possessions. Many more post ups than last season, and Dwight doesn't seem to pass much once he gets the ball in post position. That's bout it.
1). Lin is SG instead of PG. 2). Dwight's post-ups. Only time I've seen him pass the ball out is when McHale ran a set play for Lin in preseason game. Last year, it'd be pnr's for Asik and Greg Smith. 3). Parsons' pump fakes. 4). Three-balls not falling. These are usually assisted.
Team is lacking chemistry right now, I think we won't see the real Rockets we expected until midseason.
Rockets are playing scared like they have something to lose. Rockets need at least two Delfino who can shoot the ball in any situation.
Simply because we have an incompetent clueless coach who does not know how to run plays to get guys open for easy baskets. It's all ISO ISO ISO and you don't get assists for ISO's Although ball movement improved last game against Philly but that's partly due to Harden sitting out
garcia, casspi, parsons 3s are not falling, howard does not run pick n roll, we are not running like we use to last year.... when this improves we will see a big jump in assist
James Harden is the PG if you watched the games. Our PG only do defense for opposite PG. They can score a little when Harden feels like he needed to pass the ball.
I think it had to do with the twin towers. The entire offense bogs down when they are both in the game. No twin towers last night and the ball got spread around like it was last year.
Assists will go up when shooters start making basket. Howard tends to dribble a lot, as someone stated, so there goes your assists. The way you get lots of assists is if you have great shooters and dunkers...see CP3 and the Clippers.
It's easy to fix this, put Lin in a starting line up,device a 70% PnR plays alternating Lin and Harden,2 shooters in the wing and a cutter (Parsons/Jones)) on any sides. For this we have a lot of variation and it's very hard for the opponent to defend this kind of plays. We need to accept it and I hope Dwight too, that he is a very good PnR big not a post up player(well average at best because what I saw last night,he made Hawes as an elite defender in the post)
