Jeremy Lin 2.0? Undrafted -- checked Cut by the Rockets because the other guy had a guaranteed contract -- checked Picked up by a crappy team and got the opportunity to shine-- checked Nice guy -- checked Has a large cult following -- unchecked (maybe after this article he will)
The people who think Black is better for us than Smith remind me of the people who were screaming that we let go of Adrien. Yes black stays in his lane better than Smith, but smith moves our ceiling way more than Black does. Saying that i like Black and wish we still had him.
jeez i thought u meant greg smith. nobody possibly could mean josh smith at the price we got him for.
i dont want josh smith at any price...for gods sake detroit paid him to go.... Tarick Black is better than smith and hes even better than Dwight considering what you get and how much you pay for him
I'm still waiting to see how Josh moves the ceiling. So far, he's what I figured he would be -- solid defensively, but on the offensive end, a guy who can play you into today's game and out of tomorrow's. I personally find it difficult to buy into someone when it's anybody's guess what iteration will show up on any given night.
Waiting to see more is fair enough. But I haven't seen anything to suggest that he'll play the team out of games. Especially since he's obviously settling into his role off of the bench. His bad shots and poor passes do happen, but not at a high enough clip for him to deserve that label.
I agree with everything you said. It is an all in move, it could blow up in our face but you have to go all in this year. It's as wide open as ever and it seems like EVERYONE is going all in. Crazy year.
I also agree he can lower our ceiling lol but its a chance and we have to take it esp at that price. Its a one year rental if it doesnt work out.
Yeah, I guess I can understand them taking the risk -- I'd be 100% cool w/ it if we'd given up Dorsey instead. I'd just really, really, really grown to like Tarik.
Agree, he plays the game the right way and always plays hard. Very good rebounder and just an all around likable guy.
No joke. The team played much better with Tarik Black in the starting lineup because everybody knew his role. Black focused more on rebounding and defense while DMO was the clear-cut second fiddle offensively.
6'11 is his listed height. It's been discussed to death around here so most of us know he's somewhere in the neighborhood of 6'9. But if you're just writing an article you look up his listed height at nba.com and roll with it.
You guys really think Tarik Black would give The Rockets any substantial increase in our team's ability, particularly come playoff time? I liked Black on this team but let's face it...we are basically the same team with Dorsey as we are if we had Black instead
