I'd rather have Cousins. 1. Cousins can hit free throws. So while he may not be the defender Howard is, he can actually be on the court during crunch time. That's nice. 2. He's younger and cheaper. 3. He's healthier. 4. I have no idea how that trade would work - but I would presume it would free up A LOT of cap room that would enable us to go after a considerably better point guard. As to DeMarcus's attitude - I'd have an attitude too if I was stuck in that **** hole of a franchise.
Smoove will come to the facility, that one's a done deal. They can match Bev so to go to him first would be pointless. I think they go see the dragon or Brandon Knight
Could go to Beverley to show good faith and talk him into taking a smaller contract than the market could give him in order to give us more flexibility and become a better team while he still gets to compete for a starting job on a championship contender.
LMA. That is not a special date for talking with Llull, who is not a free agent. He has already been talking to Llull, as well as our own, but he'll talk to these guys pretty quickly anyhow, just to show respect.
S&T Beverley for Rondo? Is it even possible to S&T a player for another S&T player? I wouldn't mind that a Bev for Rondo swap if we can stay above the cap and keep our MLE.
He is not going to visit a guy he doesn't have money to sign. Sends a bad message to his WCF team because they know he's putting them on the market and his priority is not to bring them back and make small changes like he already said.
i think this time, we'll be the Mavs of free agency...not signing the big names but instead nabbing solid players...
I wouldn't be shocked if Morey's first stop is either Brewer or Smith. I think he knows a trade is likely required for the necessary guard upgrade, and he may wait for the dust to settle before making any moves (biggest I see is Rondo's decision - if he chooses Sac, do they look to move Collison on the cheap?). If LMA/Love want to meet, it will likely be on their own terms/schedule.
if Rondo is our PG, better sign big time shooters....and no to pairing him with Smith..2 is enough for brick shooting players on our starting 5
I agree with you about Rondo. I am against having Rondo on this team. We need more pure shooters if Rondo is the pg. I think the playmaking ability is a plus, but his horrible shooting overweighs his playmaking ability.
