Yesterdays got me thinking. It seems like every year one or more players production drops for numerous reasons, injury, new scheme, age regression. I am an optimist when it comes to the Texans and the possibilities for next season but as a fan I thought it would be interesting to see who you think may have a down year next season. I am going to poll several options including this years stat line for them and see who you think will have a down year based on this years numbers and play.

    1. Arian Foster 1224 yds 10 TD, 50 catches 617 yds receiving 2 TD

    2. Ben Tate 942 yds 4 TD

    3. Owen Daniels 54 catches 677 yds 3 TD

    4. Joel Dressen 28 catches 353 yards 6 TD

    5. Antonio Smith 6.5 sacks 1 FF

    6. J.J. Watt 5.5 sacks 58 tkl

    7. Brooks Reed 6.0 sacks 1 FF 36 tkl

    8. Connor Barwin 11.5 sacks 1 FF 36 tkl

    9. Brian Cushing 4.0 sacks 2 INT 2 FF 81 tkl

    10. Johnathan Joseph 4 INT 1 FF 42 tkl

Ben Tate and Conor Barwin. Tate got a huge chunk of his yards, when Arian was injured. And Conor Barwin, because I think we retain Mario, which means less rushing for Conor.

Brooks Reed was left unblocked quite a bit this year. With more tape, offensive coordianators are going to start getting a tight end to chip on him before going out, and assigning someone to him in the run game. Even this year, his production fell off towards the end of the year. He's the number one candidate for a sophomore slump.

Probably could have done multiple choice poll. I think several guys may be due for a cool off. I'm disappointed that OD seems to have hit a wall post-injury. And Ben Tate's numbers definitely cooled off once Foster rounded into form mid-season.

i said Tate. Hopefully he won't be starting games, s his yards may not be as high. I still expect him to have a good year though, if that makes sense.

i also went this Joel Dressen..look for us to pick up a #2 WR in free agency and the draft...Dreesens numbers will drastically decline..

I think Dreesen leaves to get a starting job somewhere. As for down year, Kareem loses his starting job next year is my prediction.

OD has been trending downward since last season.

I think his days as a top TE in the NFL are over. Injuries kill.

Who had a down year this year would ya'll say? I mean, obviously Schaub, Mario and Andre, but that was due to injury. Jacoby? Is that the only guy you can say had a down year in 2011? Pretty remarkable. Makes me bitter about losing to Baltimore. We should have freakin won :(.

If Mario williams returns, it could be Brooks Reed, since he will be sharing snaps with him.

maybe Tate, because we hope Foster is healthy during all season.

Owen Daniels have been very dissapointing, but if the texans get a legit WR2, he could get more open, because I think he didnt get good numbers this season because without AJ, defenses covered Daniels more than any other WR.

so my vote is for Ben Tate.
