Dwight Howard would be MVP by default because he anchors the defensive end and is a vital piece of the offense.
Very early for this poll. We need to first see what our offense will look like. How much post-heavy will it be? How many touches will Harden get? How will he play off Dwight instead of being the man? Once we see few games then we will have a better idea.
At first I was like "What?!?!" ...but then I saw who posted it Regarding the poll: Harden being the presumed "closer" gives him an advantage. However, it's the presence of Howard that makes us contenders. Added that he seems happier, healthier, and more motivated than in recent years (and he has actually finished in the top 5 in league MVP voting four times), my vote goes to Howard...but only by the slightest margin.
I think that most of those Lin votes are actually people trying to instigate trouble as usual and I doubt even Lin fans can even consider Lin to be the MVP of this team. Is there anyway to make this poll public retrospectively? Lol, that would be awesome
That would be a great way to trap and expose those trolls. A good lesson to teach the morons that they cannot hide behind a anonymous poll to stir up the pot.
Now, I definitely think Harden's our guy and the clear MVP but there indeed were many who believed that Omer was just as important as Hardem last year. And extending that logic out further, if Dwight were to completely lock down the paint on defense AND give us an aerial presence as well as draw attention from the post, Howard being older and having put in more work over the years, he just may get the nod. It's a good situation to be in, debating whether or not the best sg in the NBA is even the MVP of our team, lol. Nothing to get upset about.
