He's widely considered as very good prospect by experts from draftexpress, espn and many scouts. He dominated Adriatic League as a 19 year old, and has great size for a center. His performance in Eurocup is also pretty good.

He didn't dominate anything, he played 16 minutes per game, mostly against other team's backup centers and because his stamina is terrible. Nurkić is incredibly foul-prone and makes dumb plays every time he steps on the court. Of course he has good upside, but you take a flyer on that guy in the second round, not in the lottery.

At least he dominated the backup centers in the season he's 18 to 19 years old... Pelton's translated stats projection rated him very well.

I'm sure Morey will draft a good player for the Vipers because McHale more than likely won't play him.

Why isnt eldrid payton or pj hairston on this list. Hairston can be a solid d 3 player from day one and payton can lock up and facilitate the offense unlike lin.

if Kyle Anderson is still available at our pick, he should be our #1 draft choice. Sure, he's slow & w/e but training camp will help him lower that bf% and ultimately make him a little quicker. The dude's court vision and feel for the game for a 6'9 forward is fantastic. Remember how good the PnR was when Turkoglu and Howard were on Orlando? Anderson can accomplish that with Howard, IMO.

I respectfully disagree with you. He is a fine passer, but he is too slow. Losing weight, won't increase his speed. He has no explosion at all, and is a weak defender.
Shorter players will blow past him, and bigger guys will post him up with ease. He will get in quick foul trouble. He also has a slow release on his outside shot.

He's very good but unconventional. If Diaw was drafted by Spurs he may have had totally different career by now...

Given where the team is and what Morey has said, I think they will look at guys with a specific skill set to simply play a role that fits their ability. We need shooters and defense. With that in mind Id try to maneuver to get an extra second rounder angd go Payne in the first (stretch 4 with defensive potential and ready body), Hairston (shooter off the bench who has already got our typical d league year under his belt) and Young (post defender to replace Omer). I think those 3 guys would be ready to step in and play minutes off the bench almost immediately and each happens to address the teams needs pretty well.

If Payne is there, DM should go after him because he can do quite a lot of things. Hairston can shoot and defend. Young is obviously valuable, but we don't need a one dimensional player like Canaan. DM went the same route with Dorsey, which proved to be a mistake.

He would have to guard sf in the NBA and is not a horrible defender, people usually look at him athletically and project. He is a smooth player while he does not have flashy explosive highlights he is fundamentally sound.

On his slow release. Yes it is slow one he uses it to draw bigger defenders on a pump fake to open a cut/passing lane, and on smaller defenders he high points it and can rise over them fairly easy being as tall as he is.
