Either Van Gundy works fine for me.

I think it is obvious that no matter who gets hired, the offense will stay the same. What will change is the defense, the rotation, and the playcalling/adjustments/strategy.

I wonder when we could expect an announcement on McHale's future?

I have a feeling McHale will be returning. He did a "great job" with the young team he had and they will want them to "grow together." Or some nonsense like that.

There's no way in hell Stan would coach Dwight again.

If McHale is let go, I would be surprised if we didn't hear something within a week or two. These coaching vacancies fill up pretty quick. Kerr is rumored to be talking to Phil already. The Lakers are putting feelers out there for several guys. So waiting around is foolish. If the Rockets have no intention of bringing McHale back, they know already. There's nothing he can say or do this offseason to change their minds. So just make it official and move on.

Any coach would want the Rockets job. Mark Jackson could become available after tonight. He might be a decent choice.

Bring in Van Gundy, keep Finch who I assume can help run the offense. But God knows he didn't learn anything under McHale. Rudy's old boy Boylen might be interesting.

The Van Gundy brothers. I doubt either would take an assistant job but if Les could sell them both on the idea of co-head coaches I think they would love working together. Disappointing season with the first round exit, easiest fix is to fire the whole coaching staff.

No thanks on Mark Jackson. The guy is a great motivator, but he couldn't run an offense if his life depended on it.

Just look at GSW's offense. With the amount of offensive talent he has on his roster, that they repeatedly to fail to implement offensive sets and screens to break Curry and Thompson free for open shots tells you all that you need to know.

I can't believe all of the posters that would want JVG back. Really?? This guy had no clue on offense when he was here. I once heard him commentating and he said about the team's star "feed it(the basketball) to him until he drops". I don't want anymore simpleton philosophies on offensive strategy.
