    David Foster was the first to come to mind. However, a true studio ace, such as Mutt Lange or Todd Rundgren would be interesting.

    It's not that I don't like it but I think it has run it's course. It pulls in ratings though and with another new judge coming in it's doubtful it will be off the air anytime soon.

    I think its run its course with those that are tired of the gimmicks. I'm one that loves the stories of ordinary people doing extraordinary things. Lee Dewyze (this year's winner) is not cheesy or fake, he is a humble dude who sold paint 6 months ago, and today he is one of the most popular people in America. Great story.

    None of the peeps in your first suggestions know anything about singing, except for maybe Jamie Foxx... he knows BAD singing only... and Harry Connick... but he would be TOO nice. In the words of Scorpions... Mister Simon: "There's no one like you." :eek:

    I agree that some reality TV is stupid, but what other TV show has donated as much to charity? This year alone Idol raised over 45 million. If rags to riches includes hard work and dedication I am a fan of that show, if it is big t*** or b-list celebrities trying to get sober, not so much.
